I have a cousin who is getting married in the summer and she has chosen to have her 3 cousins and brothers wife (sister-in-law) as honorary bridesmaids. I spoke with her on the phone today and she was talking about all sorts of obligations for the honorary bridesmaids the day before and day of the ceremony, ie. decorating the church and the reception hall. I have been a bridesmaid and an honorary bridesmaid in the past and have never been solely responsbile for decorations, there has always been a give and take and a sharing of responsibilities. The last weddings I was an honorary and Bridesmaid in I helped take down decorations after the ceremony but didn't decorate. I guess my real question is what is a reasonable amount of effort to contribute, what should I do as an Honorary, what is too much for her to ask?

Save the dates are usually more informal arent they?
Do I have to spell out our formal names or can I just put Chris and Kate? Also do I have to spell out the date or can I write December 6, 2007? I've never sent this kind of thing out before and dont know the formality of them. Oh and its a card, not a magnet.

Thanks!

we are meeting up with my sister in Disneyland, I feel like it is a little honeymoon since we never got to go anywhere. My sister is taking my kids who are 18 and 19, they will be staying in her room. My other sister is going with her b/f and their 4 kids. I wanted it to be just my new hubby and I but he wants to take his 13 year old son. I feel bad because his son hasn't been on vacation in 5 years(his mother makes $95,000 a year but refuses to take him on vacation with her), but I really want to have our own room and have "us" time. What should I do?

I have a wedding website through the WeddingTracker.com and am having a destination wedding so to make it easier for all of my guest to communicate with me I have an e-mail option on the site (not with my e-mail address) that allows people to e-mail me trough the site or leave messages on the guest book. For the last 4-5 months I have received at least 10 Sex Spam e-mails a day through the site and everytime I complain I get the same response, our IT guys are working on it. I think they need new IT guys. Anyone else had this problem, if you have fixed it what did you do? Beware of this if you are going to do a site!!!

Ok my wedding is going to be slightly untraditional. I have no relationship with my father so he is not coming. My mother passed away last October. First off my son is walking me down the aisle. So i was planning on dancing a song with him. Then I would like a combined dance where my fiance dances with his mom and I dance with his dad. I would like to incorporate my mom in this and her favorite singers were Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson. They have a TON of love songs but i am having a hard time picking one for this occasion. Does anyone of any suggestions on what songs would be appropriate for this type of dance???? Help please!!!

We don't plan on anyone paying for the whole wedding but we know everyone will contribute. We were thinking about opening some sort of checking or saving account that people can electronically put funds in. Is there anything out there like that or is that just wishful thinking?

Just wondering about eloping in the Mid West. Can it be done at any church? or do you have to find a special 'eloping' place? I've heard 2 Witnesses are needed... will they provide us with witnesses if needed? Can my 3 week old son be a witness? Prices? Any info would be appreciated:)

A friend of mine asked me a few minutes ago what I think about the following idea: Her and her fiance's dog being the "ring bearer" in their ceremony. Their wedding is pretty formal and I have always thought that to be a little tacky but I also think that its their day and they should do whatever they want. I told her its her day and to do what she wants but she asked my honest opinion.. Luckily Im at work and the other line rang so I had to go. Whats the best thing to say to her? Should I tell her my real opinion or should I just say its a cute idea?

What is the latest time of day you would attend a wedding? (and not expect dinner) I am helping a friend, and she has said neither family has the money to pay for dinner for the 100+ guests they are planning on inviting. She wants to have a cocktail party type reception with drinks and appetizers and then cake with some varied passed desserts. So once again I ask, what is the latest you would attend a wedding (and not expect dinner)

My husband and I got married in Gatlinburg TN. It was a beautiful wedding, and we stayed there to honeymoon as well. I obviously didn't want to include my 11 yr. old son in my honeymoon, so he stayed with his Grandma and had a great time. It's been 6 months now and I'm feeling a little guilty for not including my son in my wedding. We would like to do something for our one year anniversary to include him, but what? It's too early for a vow renewal ceremony, but we want to do something a little more formal than just a party. What do we do?
