we are meeting up with my sister in Disneyland, I feel like it is a little honeymoon since we never got to go anywhere. My sister is taking my kids who are 18 and 19, they will be staying in her room. My other sister is going with her b/f and their 4 kids. I wanted it to be just my new hubby and I but he wants to take his 13 year old son. I feel bad because his son hasn't been on vacation in 5 years(his mother makes $95,000 a year but refuses to take him on vacation with her), but I really want to have our own room and have "us" time. What should I do?

get a room for you and your hubby... and get a second room for the kids.. works everytime... you could get the joined rooms.. but since you are newly married.. i would just get two that are next to eachother or close...

good luck!!

It really sounds like this is not a honeymoon. It's a family vacation. And it'd be pretty mean if you all went on a family vacation and left your stepson out. Why can't the 18 and 19 year olds stay in their own room with the 13 year old?

I understand but, guess what you are a mom now (Step mom is still means mom) With that comes sacrifice and sleepless nights and a lot of counting down until they move out.(there are good times too). But come on not taking a kid to Disneyland is just cruel. I'm sure your sister will take him for a while so you can be alone.

You can have your sister take him out with your other children for the day- i am sure he isnt going to want to be cooped up in the room and with your children being the age they are- there is no reason why they cant help watch their new sibling.

You will have plenty of time and space with you husband. You can do that or get a two room suite if it makes you feel better!

I am the wife of a split family also, and all kids should be treated equal. If your 2 are going, then his should also. hopefully your sister will take him as well, but if she doesn't then I guess he stays with you guys in your room, and make the best of it. after all he is your child now.
good luck, I know these situations can be trying sometimes.
oh.... Most importantly HAVE FUN!!!

Roll away bed for $25 in most hotels. Tell him to sleep tight while in the room with your sister with your kids.

Could your children and his son share a room? You should be allowed some privacy, since you're newly married, but you are parents as well. Sticky situation. If you can afford a kiddos room, go for it!

see if he can go with your other kids and your sister.
Spend some time with his and your kids but have your won room and set aside at least a whole day to yourselves. But remember not to leave them out- you joined families and they should be able to celebrate with you... just not all the time :)
Or have him bring a friend that he can share a room with.
