Tradition.
A new bed was always installed in the couple's home on the day before the wedding. Children were invited into the room to provide an omen of fertility. The bed was scattered with fruit, which the children could take.

Reason is that people used to live with there families to they got married they usually shared a bed with siblings so people would make a new bed for the couple to share that did not have any problems. IE most people gave birth in their bed and a lot of still births happened so this was a bad omen. Also a bad omen to have a bed that the groom had sex with someone else in this way they have a clean new start together like their marriage this is some of the reasons for some of the tradition of a new bed some people just do the new white linens.

No. My parents bought me a new queen bed just last year. When i get married this year, that is our bed cause it is my bed. My fiance likes it too so he has no problems with me keeping it as our bed. Only I have slept in the bed since i got it. I think many people buy a new bed cause their beds have been used by other relatives (like my old bed) or are just old. Or maybe both people dont like the bed and want to agree on a bed.
Oh and his bed we are gonna keep as a guest bed in another bedroom. Mine is newer and more comfortable and was more expensive.

According to Feng Shui, when it comes to your bed, it is always a good idea to have a bed that belongs only to you and your mate. Beds used in previous relationships bring those former relationships into your love life. If this is your situation, but you hate to get rid of a perfectly good bed, then donate it to a charity. Take the write-off and then buy yourself a new bed and mattress and give it to yourselves as an anniversary present.

I think you mean that people have to be a new bed when they get married, right?
That is an old tradition. It is another symbol of change. The married couple are leaving their families and moving to a "new bed".
In Asia, this is still practiced by most people.

Probably not- i think it would be a grand suggestion since they are only going to be together for the rest of their lives. Maybe it signifies something like erasing the past and building on the future but to be honest, i dont think it really matters...

But since many people have done things before you get married, to get a new bed would be pointless unless yours is broken.
