My boyfriend proposed to me tonight. I already knew that he was because I knew he had a ring and today I stayed over late at work to give him time to ask my dad. We all went out to eat and when we came back, everyone else went inside, but my boyfriend and I took a little longer. I got out of the truck first and he asked me to come there. I was carrying a take-out box from the retaurant and my purse in the other hand. He sat down and pulled out the ring box. He asked me to marry him and I shook my head yes. Then he asked me if I was sure (he always does this when he asks me yes or no questions).

I love him and I want to marry him, but I just felt sad because I wish it would have been a time when it was just me and him (I knew my parents were probably watching). And then also, I would have loved to have spent the rest of the night with just him, but we went inside with my family and didn't even get to celebrate with just us.

I'm not having a really formal wedding, somewhere in between formal and casual. I don't want a train on my dress unless it's a really short one. I kinda wanted to wear a veil though... not too long of course... my question is this: I don't really want to have the veil covering my face until "You may now kiss the bride"... I'd rather just have it back the entire time... is this normal? Has anyone done it before? Or will it look inappropriate? Please send your opinions...

My boyfriend proposed tonight. The ring is a little on the big size. I would rather it be tighter because for one, it moves around a lot, and also because I'm afraid I'm going to lose it.

He said it will take 3 weeks to resize it though at Sears. I don't understand why it would take so long when other people on here said it only takes a few days. He thought to maybe take it to another jeweler, but he said that might void the warranty.

What do you think?

If you are the bride and the groom had a name like patio, roof, stairwell, gutter, etc.
Would you take his name?
What if you could add one or two letters to the grooms name and it would a cool name!??!
Would or should you change it (both of you together)
It would save your future children being made fun of !!
Would you do it??
Why or why not?
Then both of you COULD change it to the cool name.

Here is another idea....
Put the two names together with brides last name such as:
patiotaylor,roofmiller, patiosmith, stairwellmiller etc.
This is a real question!!
Thanks for your thoughts!!!

My wedding is coming up in a week. My Dad's been married 4 times. We invited everyone (that includes exes who have all been my mom) and my Dad. We figured people could decide if they want to come or not.

Please take it from my dad's daughter. He is a whacked individual. He creates his own problems and then has blamed me for his failed marriages. My younger sis doesn't talk to him. My dad has gone to his side of the family telling them that if they attend the wedding, he will take it as a personal insult/attack on him. I wanted to do the right thing, which I thought was invite everyone and end this inheritance of hate his side of the family has gained from their ancestors and perpetuated.

I have never known my biological mother. She disappeared when I was an infant. Her family suspects foulplay on the part of my Dad and I would not be surprised if that were the case. So, naturally, I have tried to keep my moms.

Am I wrong to invite ex wives of my father's?

My fiance and I justpurchased a ring .30 carats V2, H, we paid $800 for the diamond. Did we overpay? The diamond is set in a .40 setting. (It's beautiful) the whole ring cost $1,300. I am concerned we overpaid.

What side of the family throws the engagement party? Or does the couple themselves? No one has offered (we dont have that many friends!) but I know my family would do it in a second and be happy to. But what happens at an engagement party?

My fiancee's mom offered to do my flowers. She thought it would be a good project for her since she had a brain anyeurism last summer and can no longer work. I got together pics and showed her what I wanted and she said no problem. The thing is, she's finished my bmaids flowers (supposed to be bouquest of calla lilies, very simple looking) and they are calla lily pins with a rose at the bottom. Now, we talked about that for the guys but I guess she got confused (she's very forgettful since her anyeurism, to the point of calling 3 or 4 times in a row to ask the same question). Well now my sisters who are my bmaids are complaining about having to pin something to their dresses since they're paying for the dresses. I'm sad that the flowers won't be the way I'd hoped, but have pretty much gotten over that. I am just sick of hearing my sisters gripe about how I should tell my fmil to redo the flowers and I don't want to hurt my fmil's feelings over something this silly. What should I do?

We are having our wedding in Texas, near Austin, in July. Neither of us like cake too much, but we both love ice cream cake. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find a place that makes ice cream cakes and can make the cake still look like an actual wedding cake. I know places like Cold Stone Creamery, Marble Slab, Maggie Moo's and Ben & Jerry's make ice cream cakes, but can they make them look nice? Thanks for any help!

im getting married soon and when i was dating my boyfriend he was in a frat and had a roomate who i love. once in a while if his roomate was sleeping, we would mess around, but very causciously... after about a year, his roomate tells us that he wasnt sleeping all the time, i was mortified! he promised to keep it a secret but made a joke that he will toast us at our wedding and mention this. i begged him not to say anything and he promised he wouldnt, but once at a party he got pretty drunk and told some of our friends, im afaird that if he gets drunk at our wedding, it might slip and i would die if anyone in my family or my boyfriends family would ever ever find this out.... would it be wrong of me to forbid him to make any toasts at my wedding?

I love my girlfriend so much. We've been together for 4 years already. She broke up with me since I push her to marry me but she didn't want to marry me. We are each 26 years old. I was very heartbroken that she didn't want to marry me. So, I uploaded a video of her (to lots of websites) stripping in front of the camera that she sent me while we were dating. Is that the right thing to do? I am really depressed about her breaking up with me.

OK, will try & explain easyier, I am making wedding invitations and putting in a card, with a short poem for a wishing well, ( this is what is put a the reception for people who wish not to buy a present} It also is a good idea as we have nearly everything we need for a house, ( but the house} as we have been together for years. In leyman terms they make a donation in a envelope with a wish and drop it in the well at the wedding and we use it for savings for a house or to pay for honeymoon etc. Sorry for confusing you, very stressed at the moment. I understand this is a tradition in australia an it might not happen anywhere else, Please save me lol.
