Well that isnt true here but I am guessing in parts of the world where that is still the case it is because the women there dont generally work outside the home and have no income and the husband is expected to supply the home.

Where I am from almost all the people I know who are married lived together first. The ones who didn't moved out of their separate places and chose on together. I know in some parts of the world women move into a mans family home as it is the sons duty to take care of his family (mom, dad, grandparents etc)and the wife must then follow the husband. That is common in patriarchal societies.

In a marraige a few vows are taken by both the bride and the groom. Birde promises to take care of the groom and his family while the groom promises to feed her and take care of her for life. It's the responsibility of the bride to keep the family intact while the resonsibility of the groom and his family is to take care of the lady who would be taking care of them. Hence it is bound that the woman moves on to the husbands house...

I dont belive that to be true anymore. Most people live together before marriage. Or like my husband moved in with me and brought only a bag of clothes.lol

Where are you getting your statistics from?
I would suspect it would be the larger of the two and a lot of tomes they sell both houses and start off fresh.
In the case where one is in an apartment they probably do go to whoever owns the home.

Husband is the chief bread winner. He cannot leave his place and style of life after marriage. This may disturb his work. Woman has to go and adjust! It is her good luck, if she adjusts soon.

I'm going to move to my fiance's place after we get married, mainly because I will be still living at my house with my parents before and he will have his own place. I guess it just depends on what would be the easiest for the couple.
