Hello! Congratulations to you! It took me about 2months to plan for the whole layout of the wedding. It doesn't matter the how long it takes. The important stuff that tops the list to get the venue, dresses & suits and the guests lists ready asap. Try to confirm your guest list as early as possible so that you can plan the number of tables needed. You have gotten the fundamental items ready.. now for the details of the ceremony..

Besides those mentioned above, you will need to consider these few points as well.....
1) How about your shoes? Are they make-to measure?
2) How about the settings of the ballroom?
3) Who is going to be your maid of honour & your mc?
4) Are there going to be any flower girls?
5) If there is a traditional tea ceremony, have you prepared the area for the ceremony to be held? (This may only be applicable for chinese customs)
6) Most important thing, what are the flowers that are going to be used?
7) Are you going to hold your wedding outdoors or indoors? If outdoors, u will need to plan for contingency if it rains.
8) Try to confirm on the catering menu as soon as possible. Try to go for recommendations. That is the best choice. For most wedding functions, food-tasting is available. Try to ask for that option. At least you will know the right choice of food to take.

Hope it helps.. Congratulations on your wedding and enjoy your day! Dont get too stressed.. ok?

Sounds good but try not to forget the little touches like table dressings (centerpieces) and a cake.

I had a friend of mine make me a cake and it was beautiful!!!

Instead of a cake, you could also rent/buy one of those chocolate fountains or get several other desserts and have a dessert bar. If you have an evening wedding, this could actually be cheaper than a full out meal, just serve several desserts and champagne. Very elegant! (and not very time consuming!)

It took me about 6 weeks, but you are doing good. My best friend from high school got her wedding and reception all planned and done in 3 weeks. Congrats! Take care.

well I'm not married...but it takes roughly a year for most people I know. The biggest decisions are the venue, bridal dress, invitations and cake, everything else seems to fall into place. Oh, and congrats!

One day ! Las Vegas Baby !

Weddings are overrated and a waste of cash that could be better spent on a vacation or something else more important....

Cancel your wedding and use your money wisely...

It will be 9 months of planning before our day. The only reason that we made it that long is so financially we can space out the payments without killing ourselves.

congratulations to both of you. It took me 1 year. We did it for $995.00 this included DJ, chapel, booze, decorations, favors, cake, dress, photographer, crowns, and food. We opted for finger foods on platters, finger sandwhices, fruit and cheese plates, hot wings etc.... Use up all your resources. We didn't want to go into debt for the wedding and starting our married life in debt.
