We are having our wedding in Texas, near Austin, in July. Neither of us like cake too much, but we both love ice cream cake. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find a place that makes ice cream cakes and can make the cake still look like an actual wedding cake. I know places like Cold Stone Creamery, Marble Slab, Maggie Moo's and Ben & Jerry's make ice cream cakes, but can they make them look nice? Thanks for any help!

I'd stick with the top part of the cake and save the ice cream for your honeymoon. It is appropriate but you don't know how the cake will stand up to the weather if it's hot and it could get very messy while people are waiting to be served. You'd be better off with a small cake and then having someone serving gourmet ice cream bars whatever kind or flavor is a special treat that the two of you have shared from a freezer to those who like them. If you do it as a dessert table, then people can come up and have what they want. Really, alot of people don't like cake. They only eat it to be nice. If things are set up on a buffet kind of thing - people can come and go and have what they like instead and the ice cream won't melt.

This is a wedding cake made from ice cream. I am sure any place that makes ice cream cakes could make a wedding cake for you. Try Bakerman's. I hear they are great and really cater to the specific needs and wants of the couple. Here's their web site.

I heard of Carvel doing a tiered wedding cake, I think on the food Network or A wedding story.

The problem was it could not be put on display.

But everyone thought it was a unique & tastey idea!
