You're gonna need time to get the dress altered to fit you perfectly-you don't want to worry about not being able to breathe on your wedding day, civil ceremony or extravagant ceremony. I would suggest giving yourself about a month to get the measurements and fittings just right. Just don't let your hubby-to-be see you in it before the wedding!!

Oh you don't want to wait till the day before the wedding to have a dress fitting!! If somethings not right then you risk the chance that it will not be done and then you won't have your dress. Good luck with your wedding and marriage!!

I think it's okay as long as the alterations were minor. If something goes wrong with the dress you can always reschedule since it's at the court house, right?
