Singles & Dating - 23 November 2007

I don't know if he's just not in to me or has been hit in the head too many times, seriously. Okay, there is a little slurred speech (for some odd reason I find it attractive) and he is slow to answer sometimes, but sometimes he just zones out -like into deep thought, and there is a lot of dead air sometimes. I don't know whether to take it as I'm boring him to death or he can't help it. When he comes back from day dreaming he resumes the conversation like nothing happen, and he either can't pick up on my aggravation or really doesn't care; he just smiles. And it is a clueless smile, so I can't stay mad. I don't know if he is a guy that is shy, not interested, or has lose screws (literally). And if the screws are lose, how do I deal with that?
He calls and talks on the answering machine, as if we are having a real conversation -I find that funny and sweet. Is that weird? I don't think he is trying to be funny though...but I can't help but laugh.
Seriously, Help!!

I'm dating this guy who is controlling, but I've developed feelings for someone else. I'm 28 and he's 20, we have a good connection. We are very good with communication, compatibility, compassion, being open about everything and we don't hold anything back when something is bothering either of us. Is it wrong that I was with a man for 6 years that's 29 and now I've met someone who's great to me who's 20? He makes me happy, he adores my son and my son adores him. We are so connected in so many ways and on so many levels. For a 20 year old, he's really mature about relationships and he's really patient and is willing to wait for me. I really care about this guy, but in the back of my mind, I keep asking myself if this is right? It's a big age gap, but I've been told that his age is just a number and it's how we feel about each other and if we make one another happy. Neither of us are looking for anything seriou, we just want to be together but I'm afraid that I'll be frowned on for this.

I went out with this guy for a couple of weeks but things didnt work out between us, and he dumped me because we hardly ever talked. During that relationship i became friends with one of his friends, and after it ended, i had a small crush on him. Right after the breakup my ex's friend also told me he had liked me the whole time i was going out with his friend, but coulnt do anything about it. A few weeks later my ex told me that he wanted to try again, and start over. But i dont know what to do. I still like my ex, but i like his friend at the same time. And i think it would be weird going out with my ex's friend, because of our history together. What should i do? Who should i pick/not pick????

so, I've met her and we adore each other. Now when we are all together, he holds back and let's me and her spend time together. he goes about doing his thing while her and I talk and play (she's 6). She's starting to ask to spend the night with me or to have dad drop her off at my house so she can be with me - he doesn't allow this because he has her part time and wants to be with her as much as he can. Is it possible he's letting us bond because he has deep feelings for me and/or he's thinking very long term on this relationship? She's at the point now everytime she's at dad's she wants to call me and wants me to come over. Tonight at dinner she asked her dad if I could spend the night - we both said no to that. I don't want to read too much into all of this, but I'm in love with him and of course I want things to work out. Your thoughts/opinions are welcome.

I basically did anything to remove him, deleted his number, cut contact, deleted/trashed photos from facebook and all photos, and deleted him from my friends list. Then I get a message saying why are you so immature from him? He caused me a lot of pain and being reminded it of it everyday does not seem fair to me. So was i honestly immature?

Before I talk to him, i'm just a little nervous (but this apprehension goes away once he responds) I look forward to talking to him. After talking to him, I always feel like we've had a good conversation, and we always end up talking for 2, 3 hours. I always get a good feeling and like we have a connection, but I don't understand why he doesn't seem to show any initiative to be my friend. i even invited him to an event at my school (i asked him indirectly, because i didnt want it to seem awkward) , but he didn't seem too interested to go. If I see him(which is not often), its a little awkward because I always feel nervous, and I'm always the one to say hello first. I don't understand how we can get along so well online, and have great conversations (I don't talk to anyone else I know in the same way) but he still doesnt seem to care

Okay, I have a really good friend who is best friends with this guy right? Well they hang out all the time and do almost everything together. They sleep together on a regular basis. He calls her numerous times through out the day just to talk to to find out how things are going or what they are going to do that night. But, they aren't officially dating although my friend would like that to be. She is being patient and not pressuring him into making the relationship go further. Are they really together or not and if not, any suggestions on what she shold do to make her intentions clear?

I'm 17 and my boyfriend is almost 20. He's not a bad guy or a pervert or anything, but he seems a little more serious than usual when he talks about me and him doing "things". I told him I want to hold out until I'm 18 to do anything beyond making out and he said he would be willing to wait and he respects my decision.

We've only been dating for a month, but we're both very serious about each other. It's not really a big deal for me to wait, I'd just like to look back in a few years and say that I made the decision to wait until I was legal.

I need a little help on whether I should do it or wait a little longer.

My boyfriend ALWAYS wants me to wear heels with short skirts and a small top even at night. When I don't, he complains and tells me that I should've worn something different. I told him that I'm tired of freezing my *** off while other girls have jackets, jeans and uggs on to keep warm. He just told me that I complain too much...Am I being unreasonable!? I don't think it's fair that he gets to dress all warm with jeans, sweatshirt and timbs while I have to stay cold in my tiny outfit that's not even comfortable!!

So heres the deal, i've been dating this guy for a month now and the relationship hasn't gone anywhere. i mean we've kissed... once. and he talks to me at school. he calls me maybe once every other week. he isn't really comfortable around me. i'm his first girlfriend, but the thing is... he's my 5th boyfriend. i'm ready to move forward and it doesn't seem like he is. we text sometimes... and hang out maybe once a week. and i like him still, but i feel like this is a waste of my time. should i break up with him?

Here's the deal. I was told that my friend "JJ" was getting married. I had been having sexual relations with JJ for almost 5 yrs. It has never been a serious relationship or anything but I have deep feelings for him and he knows it. He tells me that he cares about me alot but that he cant commit because he has seen alot of failed marriages in his family. Anyways, 2 weeks before they told me that he wa getting married I had asked him if he was seeing or talking to someone else and he told me "no". Now, I dont know what to think about this news, what should i do?? I love him so much but yet at the same time I know that all he does is keep hurting me. Why do I allow myself such hurt?

I have a new man in my life. He is really great! We both have really busy schedules. The only time we can spend is on the weekend.
I feel that I'm addicted to him already and we've only been seeing eachother for 3 weeks.

When I was 12 years old I had a crush on this guy, every summer my family and his would stay at the same hotel done in New Jersey (the families were not friends). One day I went to the movies with one of my friends and he was there, he and my friend were friends so we watched the movie together. Later on my friend and I got separated and I was left alone with him, we talk allot and it turned out that we had a lot in common. But after that night I never talked to him again.
Now I’m 17 and we attend the same school, he has a girl friend and I have a boyfriend. But it seems like whenever I see him, I don’t know I get this weird feeling inside, and he gives me this piercing look like he could be feeling the same.
I don’t understand it but I don’t know what to do either, he’s been going out with his girlfriend for three years. But this feeling I don’t know how to explain it, then again I was just one night??

Do they always need to feel needed, belittle, women, and cannot be around strong women. I also wonder can they be around strong men? Do men who are insecure have a problem with their sexuality? Could it be possible that their mothers treated them very badly and that's why they are mean to women? Any suggestion is appreciated.

So i had this crush on this guy for quite a long time, and he finally one day, we told each other who we liked, turns out to fine. I really love him and think of him all the time, while he tells me lots of stuff and says that he loves me and can't stop thinking about me...

A friend of mine told me I need to get over my ex girlfriend and move on. The problem is I have no idea how. I'm in my 40's and basicly I've only had one girlfriend, we were together for almost eight years so everything I talk about includes her. If I go on a date I'll have nothing to talk about because I'm sure my date wouldn't want to hear about my ex. All I do now is work, sleep, and eat I have no desire to get involved in anything or with anyone. How do I get out of this funk?
