Singles & Dating - 16 October 2007

Boys tell me that I speak like a guy. I wonder if this is why boys don't like me. They tell me i'm pretty, but they don't have crushes. I have a very girly voice, but it's just what I say that sounds like boys. I stopped cussing, but only cuz I really got in trouble at school, but I still say stuff like "nice", and I call everyone a "punk". I play soccer too, and I often scream a lot when we play a gme, so my voice is hoarse half the time. I tried to stop using those words, but they have become part of me, and I can't stop. It's hard!! I was just wondering if how a girl sounds has any importance on whether or not u find her attractive. Can I do anything to sound girlier, that isn't to stop calling people dude, or punk, or saying "nice" and "sweet" and "yo momma", which I say ALOT.

I am a commercial pilot who has been working in the canadian north in pretty much complete isolation from civilization. I am now back in civilization but i feel like i have lost touch with humanity.
How do i go abouts in comming back in contact with especially girls?

I really like this guy, and i don't know if he likes me. he acts like it sometimes. he sits behind me in algebra (3/4 in case you were wondering) and out of the corner of my eye sometimes i can see him staring at me. and then, in orchestra (yes, i know. Laugh) he has been known to stare at the back of my head... we've got this competition going in our section. the person that can play the hard part the best will get first chair, and everyone is confident i'll win (for some reason) and this guy is pretty sure he'll get second chair, which is what he's been aiming for for about the last two years. he wants me to be in first and him to be in second chair, basically.(ps-- there's also this bet going around in that class we'll go out soon... no ideas as to how it got started tho...)

My boyfriend and I have been together plenty long enough to be engaged by now so I am kind of expecting it soon. I know it won't really be a total shock when he purposes because we talk about it all the time but still , I really want to be surprised! So tonight he asked me if I'd like to look at the engagement ring he picked out!! I don't know how to feel about that! That kind of ruins the surprise... not kind of... it REALLY ruined it! I mean, I'm not expecting romeo to sweep me off my feet kinda thing but still, it seems like if I go look at it and pick it out with him that he shouldn't bother at all!

I am pretty upset and I don't know what to do or how to feel about it. Maybe I should go so I'm not disappointed in the ring he chooses (though I'm not fussy). I feel like just the fact that he told me he's looking at rings has ruined it.

Is this something normal, that girls go look at their rings pre-engagement??

Just need some help with this one!

Ok so we have been going out for 3-5 months, and we go to school together. Through out these months I constantly tended to her. Made sure if something was on her mind, I could help her. If her friends didn't eat with her, I would so she wouldn't be alone. I would TRY to hang with her after school, lunch, or whenever, but she would just walk away, and talk to someone else. She gives everyone else attention, but me. If someone is having a bad day she will cheer them up, but when I have a bad day she doesn't give a rat's ***. She gives other people hugs or talks to other people, but I have to ask for attention. I AM FED UP! I don't try to hang with her anymore hoping she will come and hang with me, but she doesn't. I eat alone every day, cuz my friends are out hanging with their girlfriends. She knows I get jealous easy, yet she still flirts with other guys, then when I tell her I'm kinda jealous, she gives me all this "I love you" crap, that doesn't hold any friggin value. WAT DO I DO!

Or is he just supposed to not care? Personally I love attention, and feel great when having people stare at me at clubs or bars, or other public areas. They do all the time, and I love it. Except when the majority of them are guys of course, he he. But, is this wrong? Or is attention only for women? Is it one of those double-standard things, where the guy is supposed to pretend that he, at least, doesn't care for it?

ok lets just say someone is dating a celeb's son. You are so inlove with them, but your parents cant know so you sneak around and date them secretly so it doesnt get on any headlines. u decide its safe to tell your friends, but they dont believe it at all! I tried calling him on the phone and they listened to his voice, but they thought it was a friend or family member I asked to play along, and i showed them a pic of us that i have but they think i photo shopped it. should i just give up and say i was joking? because i cant get them to meet him, i have to sneak to be with him. Here's The Story:
My boyfriend and a few of my freinds were going to go to the mall and just hang out. Well my boyfriend couldn't come with us for some strange reason... Anyways we ran wild (exaggeration) through the mall and soon we ended up at this Halloween shop where I tried on this dorky, whore-like costume as a dare.

The next day we were starting to feel bad for going without him so I called him to make sure everything was alright. He told me that she only reason he wasn't able to go was because his mom thought I was a party girl. I thought it was pretty stupid since she hasn't even met me in real life. Plus I'm one of the most down to earth people ever.

Well yesterday, we gave him the pic that we took of me in that costume. His mom found it and now thinks I'm a whore! It was just a joke and my friends thought it would make him happy.

So now I'm depressed because I really don't want her to judge me and to know the real me. Not just some stupid pic. What should I do?

Ok. This is an extremely embarassing question to ask, but i think im about to have my first kiss soon and i have no clue what to do... so when the moment comes, i won't know what to do or how to react! im so scared, but exited.

Well, all she ever talks about,(the few times we do talk) is smoking weed and hanging out in a different town. Whenever I just want to talk she normally has some excuse. For example just today she said (by text) someone was using there phone so she couldn't talk. But she continued texting me. When i asked of she could talk or not she simply stopped talking.
I love this girl to the end of the earth and back, she is beautiful, and funny, and used to seem loving, but it seems like we have lost what we used to have. I'm afraid she has met someone new and wants to leave me. I am only 16 but that does not mean i cannot feel love. I wish somebody could give me useful advice, please, just tell me what you think.

I'm in love with my best friend's sister, there has always been a flirty connection between us, but as long as I've been in love with her she has had a boyfriend. I can tell she likes me, I can tell by the way she acts when she is around me, and the way she is different around her boyfriend when I am around. I don't want to try and steal her from him, but what is the best thing to do if I really like her, and it seems like she really likes me?

"You should try not to be in love with someone who's not available. It's not healthy. Wait until you find someone you like more, or she ditches her boyfriend. You could always make a polite offer to her, don't think of it as 'stealing', or something to be ashamed of."

I think of it as stealing because over the past year and a half I have become friends with her boyfriend. I think him and my best friend (her brother) would both have a problem with me trying to move in on her while she is still with him.

I have been with her for 5 years, last friday she asked me to leave. She didnt give a reason really, we have been fighting a little the last week though. I have been going there but no answer, calling and no answer. I took all my clothes with me. Left all the furniture. Now I talk to here tonight and she said she will call me when she feels like it. What does that mean?.......I asked if I could come see her and she says she doesnt want me right now. WTF is this? Should I wait a month and let her find someone else or should I keep calling and knocking on her door?

Hey I see this girl often and she looks at me and I look back. I mean she is always eyeing me and when I look at her she turns her face. Sometimes when our eyes meet I can tell that she's interested.
