Read sometime ago a nice statement about life & time but I cannot recall the exact statement. Basically, it says that when you hit a certain age/stage, life revolves around how much time you have left but in early part of your life, you just want to just rush or use up time.

Does anyone know what country the surname Minchew originated from? The reason I ask is because this surname is within my family tree...I was just curious. Nobody in my family seems to know where it came from. Some think it's French, but it doesn't sound like a French name to me.

I recently had a fight with my mom in law and sis in law b/c I would not letmy 4 yr old daughter have desert b/c she did not eat her dinner. But yet they gave it to her anyway and told me that my rule were stupid. My husband agrees with them and they really hurt my feelings. What do I do I just cannot take the disregard of my rules being over ruled by people who did not give birth to these children, and I do not know how to address them in a manner that gets my point across. Please help! I feel like I have lost a family that i love very much.

Can you share your experiences and tell me what you think of the opinion below? They found out that emotional pain can feel very much like physical pain according to neuroscientists -sad. Witnesses to these attacks may be important peers and coworkers. I think it is important to let others know what you are thinking when picked on, because if you dismiss the bullying, peers may lose respect for you. I think it's good to show that you can take a joke & stand up for yourself. Some say who cares what others think. Well, why don't you dress up like a clown to work? Regardless of what you REALLY think of yourself, humans are social animals and rely on status and impressions to get what they want. It's a game you have to play. Especially if you have kids who may be picked on or have a mean boss, I highly recommend this book. I used to be picked on myself cause I was overanalytical/nerdy..Yes..I see the irony.

My father is in the hospital for 2 weeks now in the ICU because he has pancreaitis. He is on a feeding tube and they put a hole through his trachea because he can barely breathe. (tracheostomy). Well my question is

while he is sedated..can he hear me at all...what is it like...i dont know..i see him blinking with a closed eye when i cry to him, hold his hand and tell him i lov him... I want to know if he can hear me...its such a horrible sight to see my dad, gasping for air provided by a machine...

im telling everyone now....appreciate what you have...because anything can happen...it takes only 30 seconds of a disease to ruin your life...plz pray for me....i need it....

i cant concentrate in school at all and this is my senior year...i dont know why this happened to my family...i dont know why

I have a older brother and sister (10 and 12 yrs older) Its a long story but they do not do anything to care for her. She is still alert but has cognitive problems and sometimes "acts out." I would like to know if anyone has any answers for me because my Fiance' is in AZ I am in NY and I cannot leave and afraid to leave my mother and my brother and sister will not treat her well. BTW, my mother does not want to leave her house either. I do not know what to do. I feel guilty if I left right now because of the lack of responsibility of my siblings. Any Suggestions at all I welcome,
Thank you

These are family members who just have issues . I didnt do anything to them. They talk about me behind my back to the rest of my family just because they made up rumors about me. Ever since then, they have given me hell but i think it makes them even more mad that i ignore them anywhere i see them. They see I am happy without them cause all those people they once had against me still talk to me. I honestly got used to living my life without including them or their drama. So now when we have family get togethers, I see them there and laugh and have fun with everyone else but them. I had tried for a straight year to fix things with them but they refused to accept that i could forgive and forget. Guess they like the drama in their lives...Is it bad for me to keep ignoring them?

Recently a "Husband Super Store" opened where women could go to choose a husband from among many men. It was laid out in five floors.

The only rule was, once you opened the door to any floor, you HAD to choose a man from that floor; if you went up a floor, you couldn't go back down except to leave the place, never to return. A couple of girlfriends went to the shopping center to find some husbands...

First floor
The door had a sign saying, "These men have jobs and love kids." The women read the sign and said, "Well, that's better than not having a job or not loving kids, but I wonder what's further up?" So up they went.

Second floor
The sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, love kids, and are extremely good looking." "Hmmm," said the ladies, "But, I wonder what's further up?"

Third floor
This sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, are extremely good looking, love kids and help with the housework."
"Wow," said the women, "Very tempting." But there was another floor, so further up they went.

Fourth floor
This door had a sign saying "These men have high paying jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak."
"Oh, mercy me," they cried, "Just think what must be awaiting us further on! So up to the fifth floor they went.

Fifth floor
The sign on that door said, "This floor is empty and exists only to prove that women are f-cking impossible to please. The exit is to your left."

My adult daughter moved back into my home. She won't help around the house,(much), and expects me to either drive her everywhere she wants to go or let her use my car. She doesn't work, but does provide some grocery items. I'm not in the best of health and am expected to have surgery in the near future. I pay the bills, take care of the housecleaning, cooking, laundry and yard work. Any suggestions on how I can get more help from her without making her mad?? (She is EASILY angered)

I don't know how this happened.

Two weeks ago I gave birth to a little girl named Crystania Elysa Maria. Beautiful name, not a beautiful baby.

You know how mothers are supposed to be blindly in love with their children and think they're the cutest babies ever?

No.

Mine is ugly. Her eyes are too small, her nose is huge, she's just so f&*king ugly.

I've been crying for the past 2 weeks.

I'm very attractive and so is my husband. I wanted to have a cute baby.

Nobody's going to stop me on the street and say "AW!"

Nobody is jealous.

I have an ugly *** baby, who will turn into an ugly *** teen and ugly *** adult and be made fun of forever/

How did I screw up so badly w/my first child?

Ok my child's father and I discussed getting back together bc we both still love each other and our daughter is 15months. He said that right now he is going thru alot and needs to work things out b4 he can focus on a committed relationship with me. At first I thought that was his nice way of saying that he is not interested in a relationship with me. But here lately he has been cooking dinner and bringing it to me every other nite and spending way more time with me and our daughter. Could he really be willing to work things out and finally be a family or is he just being nice to spare my feelings?

My sister is coming to visit from Oregon for 1 day for my Moms Birthday. It will be the first time all of the grandchildren are together, and we are going to have a photo made of all 5 of the grandchildren for my moms birthday. It is a very big deal. We are trying to come up with a theme for the photo, so the girls look similar but still accentuate their differences, i.e. spring dresses, etc. But we can't come up with something that will work well as the 5 girls are very different in ages and looks. They are

Natalie-12-(size 16) heavyset, tall, dark olive skin, long brown super curly hair
Haley-10 -(10/12 girls) slender, normal height, fair skin, thin blonde medium length hair
Lexi-4-(5T) average, tall, tan white skin, thick blonde hair
Athena-3(4T) average, olive skin, thin brown short hair
Rhea-5 months-size 6-12mos- fair skin, dark blonde hair infant.

So you see, the girls are very different, how can we dress them all to "match" but still accentuate their individuality?

I have only several months to live--cancer--and have not told my family. I am not old, I've never smoked and drank socially, my family thinks I am healthy because I've lost some weight. My cancer symptoms are not noticable, so I went along with them and led to believe that I am healthy. But now I am ready--I think--to tell them the truth, how would you go about, what would you do? P.S. I personally have come to terms with my fate.

This is a messy thing but my Mom when I was three divorced my Dad (they married when she was 16 and he was 22) She was at that time going to college. When I was 5 after I claimed abuse by the man Tim she lived with who was 20 years older. She ran off with him. After the court told her if she wanted to see me she woudl have to leave Tim alone and move out and he was to have no contact with me what so ever. She chosed Tim.
When I turned 18 I found out my mom was still alive but she was divorceing Tim for another man.
After an on again off again relationship with her enduring her constant screaming and trying to change me I finally told her to leave me alone. (i am now 27) I have been there for her and Now today when I went with her gorcery shopping.and her behavor was apalling she was shaking her butt to the shopping music. complaining about people there and being an all around jerk.
I find out she is separtated from her third husband. Should I leave her and forget her?
