If I understand your question, I think you want to know who my ancestors are and when I found out. I have known my grandparents personally. When my last grandparent died I was sorry that I didn't find out what they knew about their parents and grand parents. I became curious too late in life.
I started asking aunt's and uncles and cousins what they had heard from their parents. I started searching on the Internet. Ancestry,com and Family Search and a least 100 other web sites. It was unbelievable how much info I found on the Internet and from family. I put all the information together and together we have written 500 pages and have a 50 page album of pictures. and a 12 page album of headstones in a book.
We are English, Irish, Scott's Irish, Welsh, Danish, Cherokee Indian, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and Polynesian.
When you learn of the hardships those who came before you, you begin to appreciate all they went through to make a better life for us.
It gave me self worth and I feel special for all they did for me even though I didn't know them personally. I will meet them someday in the here after.
