I was just at a funeral and the guy had prepaid for his funeral and he had written out his own short biography and it had been laser etched into stainless steel pages. The book was simple but interesting talking about his childhood, his brother and sisters, his parents. These were his memories that he wanted others and family members in the future to know about. There was also an etched photo of his wife and children and Family Tree on back of the book. I was told the funeral home made two of these books. One went in the Coffin and the other went into a cool looking locked box in the front of the grave stone for people to read years later with the use of a key given to family members. Anyway, his sister said the Stainless Steel will last for 200,000 years and he wanted his life and his thoughts and memories to be remembered more than for JUST Born 12/041937 Died 9/9/2006 I think this is something I would like my Parents to do and maybe me ? What do you think ?

my real dad got in contact with me the other day and I havent seen him in 13 years. He asked me to meet up with him and I told him I would only do it at town hall where there are people around who work with people my age. He agreed to it but then the day of the meeting I waited for him for 1 hour and he didnt show...
He abused me when I was 2 years old so I have never trusted him, so I am wondering why he wanted to meet up but then never showed.

Do you think he had something planned but he couldnt go ahead with it because social services were there?

Do you think he should give him a second chance?

Am I just being foolish about this whole thing?

Please, honest answers...

Hi, my older sister just rang me on my mobile crying down the phone, saying that she is going to overdose, and then the phone cut out, and when I tried to ring back, it rang but she didnt answer, Im scared that she may have taken an overdose and no-one else knows except for me, and no-one is here so I cant tell anyone, and my battery on my phone has gone dead so I cant even call an ambulance. I would charge my phone but my brother nicked my charger. Please help. what would you do?

I know, it sounds like a cliche, but my mother in law drives me nuts. She calls twice a day-- at least. She tries to see us 3 or four times a week -- at least. She has an opinion on every aspect of our lives. We have an infant daughter, and a six year old son, my husband's stepson. She's been asking us to let the baby come visit her for a few hours (we live in the same town) but she doesn't invite my son. We told her that we don't want him to feel left out of going to grandma's house; Take one, take the other too. Suddenly, she wasn't up to it. When we all come over to visit, she won't allow my son to hold or touch the baby, even though we do. She thinks he will somehow hurt her. He adores his baby sister, I've seen no evidence of any jealousy yet, and he's very careful with her. It's not just him, though, because she's even told me, "Cheryl, watch the baby"! She's not a first time grandma, She's got 3 other grandchildren and a great grandson. My husband says I should address this with her, I say, "I deal with my mother, you deal with yours." I don't think it's my place to tell her to back off. Any tips or suggestions?

ok, here it goes.I'm 35 and suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). When I was growing up and I was 6 years old I was molested and raped by my father every single day until I was 16 yrs old and finally found the courage to get up and leave the house.I lived with this secret for most of my life. At 26 I confronted my mother and told her everything. At the time my younger sister was diagnosed with cancer, so my mother asked me to put it on hold, and not to say a word to anyone until my sister got better. Well at 30 my sister was doing better, and was finally released from the hospital and she began to live a normal life like everybody else. I took that opportunity to confront my father, and my mother got upset. Now at 35 I refuse to be a part of the family. My mom is playing games with my dad doesnt know if she wants to be with him or not, Im the oldest of 6 girls, he molested and raped three of us...even if my mom decides to stay with him, should I continue to talk to her?

my already crazily overprotective and narcassistic parens to not send me to a psychiatrist when ive lost weight and have acted weird bcz i am scared they will send me to one but only made thins worse since i knew that if they did it would only make them mooooreee crazily overprotective etc over me ... im 22 by the way so dont treat me like a stupid child as well serious qn...

I have a 2 -1/2 year old daughter and I am expecting. I just got hired on to a company in the accounting department. I have an okay job and I have to keep a full-time job to pay bills. But I want to go back to school and get a degree. Better yet I want to be a pharmacist, and it takes a lot of time and classes. How can I juggle all of these things at once?
