no, it's NOT okay... my husband does it too.... so he doesn't give baths anymore!

I have stepped away from the tub to grab the phone or a towel- but never, ever to watch tv- YIKES!

He should take advantage f that time... bathtime can be boring sometimes-buy some of those foam letters/shapes that stick to the tub when wet- it is something they can do together...

Maybe you should sit down & explain WHY it is a baaaaaaaaad idea to leave the baby alone in the tub. Heck, my 2 yp slipped * scraped her belly on a toy while I was RIGHT THERE, the tub can be a very dangerous place for a little kid

It's very dangerous to leave a 2 year old unattended. They can slip hit their head some how and drown. Even in two inches of water they can drown. Accidents happen so quickly. Watching TV....you'd never even hear the last gasp for air or cry for help.

He's a selfish oaf--doing what he likes, instead of tending to his responsibilities.
The child can spend a little time playing in the bath, but should be washed and gotten out--in a responsible manner. Children learn from everything they see and she's being set a bad example, by the very person who should be setting the best example...

The bathroom is one of the most dangerous rooms in a home bedause of the large number of unyielding surfaces such as edges of tubs, tile floors, sharp cabinet edges, etc.

If you place any value at all on your peace of mind, and you do not want to rot in jail for child abuse (neglect) you will never leave a small child unattended in the bathroom. They could fall, knock themselves unconscious and drown in one half inch of water. Who is to blame? The water company? nope... You will be the one they blame.

Think smart. Think Safe.

Very wrong. Unsupervised children and water are a bad combination, so many terrible things can happen. I could understand running out quick to get the phone or a towel, but to watch TV??!?!?!?!?! Why don't people get it?

I guess it depends on the two year old. Our son is motor skill delayed, so he may not be alone in the bath until he's four or five, but if she's able to walk, I'm not sure I see the problem. Just as long as it's not too deep.

It only takes an inch of water for a child to drown.Your husband is irresponsible and not equipped to handle children.

I read that this isn't safe. 2-3 years old is too young to be left alone near water. It is possible a child can drown. You can go to this website link and print it out and show your husband. Your concern is valid.

I do. Tell your husband children have drown in drywall buckets, post holes in the ground and in the toilet . . . . it only take a second and two inches of standing water.
