Family - September 2006

I'm 18 and i have a brother. My mom and dad lives in another place (not gonna mention where) and my brother with them. Ever since i was 5, me, my mom and my brother moved to the states but my dad had to remain where he was due to his work. He would come visit us whenever he has time. But this isnt entirely about just my dad, my mom who works when she has a chance. I guess its my parents way of expressing love, we put the food on the table, clothing on you, a place to live... but i think i never registered that as the kind of love i needed. I actually think back everytime im on like the subway or whatever when i see how close and intimate a family relationship can be from little kids on the subway with their parents. and it kicks me right in the ***. I guess its jealousy and i guess im sort of blaming my parents for it.. But i never really took it as an issue just until yesterday.. anyone have this kind of experience as if they arent even close to their families at all?

I am 20 years old, a full time student.
I have only one immediate family in the US, my brother. we have been living together since i came to the US, three and the half years ago his girlfriend whom he is persently married to joint us.
Things wasn't and has never been working b/w us, before then i would cry and find ways to keep me from worring and i thought we were going to pass all of that as time goes by.
In most cases, i avoided her by being with myself, i know it may sound crazy but thats the true. Just recently i met a men, and i started dating him, within week, i sept at his home, and if he was real, i was going to move in with him unfortunely, he wasn't a good person.
I had never slept at any man's house before (relationship). I did this because i was looking for way to ecaspe my sister- inlaw. Anything that geos on b/w she and myself, i don't tell my brother because i don't want people..
I really want to get out, if anyone have or know anybody who's renting room

Hi. My parents live with my husband and I (my dad is disabled) and it really is a necessary arrangement. Well, my mom is a COMPLETE pessimist and control freak. She sits around LOOKING for things for my husband and I to do (take out the trash, wash bottles, quit spending money). We split the bills and housework, well, sort of. She works so I do most of the housework and take care of dad. When I tell her to lay off, she completely guilt trips me like I'm being a b****h because I'm telling her to back off. She claims she can't "talk" to me because I will walk out when she starts out with her "list". I don't want to fight and yell, so I simply go to my half of the house. When I ask her for any kind of help with my two babies she says "I didn't have any help when I was your age." Making me feel incompetent because I sometimes get overwhelmed. She is my mom and I really love her so can someone please help!!

I ask her all the time what I normally do when she just simply tells me the truth, she always answers "nothing" She's 11, she really hasn't done anything crazy yet besides sneaking snacks. We have 2 other children and they think it is very "unfair" that my 11 year old gets 2 snacks and they only get one. I just don't know what I can do to stop it. It drives me nuts.

My parents have been supporting their son--giving him money (apt, car, school, camera equipment, etc) all his life. He has defaulted on paying most things. He is a sweet guy besides that. He is a freelance photographer and keeps hoping for his big break. That's why they keep supporting him. Meanwhile, none of the girls get this much support. I can barely pay to put myself through school--I get no help and I don't dare ask! My mother even asked me (the youngest kid) to give him money to bail him out of a couple financial emergencies. I'm 13 yrs younger than him! He's my oldest brother--shouldn't I be asking him for help? I'm so sick of this! But I can't make her stop! My mother is a widow now. She keeps saying--"If your father were alive your brother would have been out of the house". Even if he leaves the creditors will keep calling! What to do? Thanks for reading.

So this guy talks to his wife about how her son is affecting their relationship. she waits on this kid hand and foot, the kid just lays around the house. he has been ordered to go back to school, by the judge due to some trouble he got into. he works one day a week, and thinks he don't have to do anything around the house. the step dad is tired of this kid laying around takeing up space, enjoying comforts that he dont deserve. after haveing a similar talk with his wife she says her kids are all she has, and she is not gonna choose between the husband,and the son. Oh by the way her daughter is twenty four and she pays her car note the tags her cell phone. the mom sits around and crys cause she has maxed out several credit cards trying to buy her kids love, they dont even respect her. her husband is miserable, should he not make her kick this bum out and say to hell with the marriage? after all she says her kids are all she has. by the way her daughter lives two states over.

Ok I am a white female that have 3 white children 2 by my first marriage and the youngest by a man that is in prison for malesting my daughter. Well, early after we started dating my girlfriend would get kind of quiet and I would ask if something was wrong and then she would say "nothing". Well later I found out she was lying, she was upset at me about something but didn't want to talk about. Well, my trust in her was completely gone so I told her if she wanted to be with me she would have to wear a chastity belt when I wasn't around. At first she thought I was joking but once she realized I was serious she eventually started wearing it. Well, this past week, her and her girlfriend went out shopping together and came back and we were all going to go out to a nice restaurant, but first they wanted to take a shower so I gave my girlfriend the key to the chastity belt and when my girlfriend was taking her dress off, her friend saw that she was wearing the chastity belt and asked about it. Well, now her friend is all mad at me and that to put it nicely "i'm really wrong for making her do that". Am I really out of line?

soo i dont know what to do. my cousions and brother all treat me like ****..and it pisses me off..and i work with my cousion and its worse at work..they make it a point to tell me i have no friends..when i do..but all they do is drink..so i dont hang with them much..and they call me a drop out b/c i quit regular high school and started doing online school..wich they dont think is the same thing..and they make me feel like ****..all i wanna do is cry when they say these things..and even when i try to stick up for myself it dosnt work..and out parents think they joking..or make some excuse for them..they dont know how much it hurts..what can i do..this is bullshit..

so im 16 and i have this friend thats a guy and hes 18, and i felt kind of sorry for him so i gave him my number...just as friends...to talk and my parents got really mad when he called me at midnight...and this is my cell, and it was on vibrate.. so if im not keeping anyone up whats the problem...and it was on a friday night...and phone minutes arnt an issue.

My daughter is 5 and when she gets time out, or nap time, or just has to go to bed, or do something she doesn't want to, she pulls her hair out, and pinches herself, and slaps herself. I ask her why she is doing it, and she says it makes her feel better. What should I do? Why would she do thjis?

I'm a 18 years old girl and i need all the advice that i can get. Me and mom don't get along and everytime that we talk we fight becasue of the fact that 18. My mom don't like my friends or my boyfriend and she thinks that everyone is a bigger promble for me. the more that i go out the more she is thinking that i'm doing drugs, and having sex. i'm not doing drugs, but i did have with my boyfriend. i can't tell her this because she will tell my family and then they would make a bigger problem out it. she thinks that my boyfriend is a trouble maker and he is not. my mom thinks that my friends and boyfriend is a bad influence.
