Ok I am a white female that have 3 white children 2 by my first marriage and the youngest by a man that is in prison for malesting my daughter. Now I have been married for 3 years to a black man the my youngest calls daddy by his choice is is only 5 and its the only daddy he knows.But everyone wants to judge us and tell him that his dad cannot be black when he is white.

I heartily agree with all the wisdom expressed here. Nice job, guys! I gave you all a thumbs up. Love and goodness come packaged in all colors (so does evil), and concerns only a person's spirit, not his color.
Remember, Starlight, YOU are not the one with the problem; you have cause only to hold your head up *really* high-- especially with a man that noble.
BTW, it's nice to see another Brother taking the moral high road. Does us all proud.

You know what it is, white men get jelous when white women are with balck or any colored men period. They get jelous because they know that the colored man can treat us better than the white man did. I say colored because i'm talking black, mexican, Indian,ect....white men are insecure, and hate the thought that men of color are stealing all their white women away. I know how stuped is that!
My husband is Mexican, i'm a half german and half Indian women. But I am white skinned, and unless I say what my nationality is you wouldnt be able to tell it. Once I was with my kids in the supermarket, and both my kids are VERY dark from bewing half mexican, and Indian. The stuped white man standing in line with me says out loud, and making sure everyone heard him "why do all the white women always get involved with these damn blacks and mexicans" i had to go home and explain to my 2 young kids why this man said this, and also explain the difference of color-when francly it should have never been an issue.
Race is way to big of a problem, your husband has everyright to be that child daddy no matter what race he is.
this kinda stuff makes me so mad

people suck. i have no idea why they feel the need to insert their opinions into your life. don't get a vic. mentality, just learn to say "you're a moron" in your head and "thank you for that unsolicited opinion" to them and move on. I'm glad your 5 year old has a dad. I am always touched when another man takes kids as his own. Good for your husband, and best of wishes for you. If you live in a small city (sometimes they're more closed minded) maybe you could consider moving to a bigger city and maybe more coastal. People seem to be less prejudiced in bigger cities. I've lived in both and have seen enough of ignorant morons like that. P.S. My best friend is white and has adopted black twins with her white husb. and has to deal with that some, too.

First of all, I'm so sorry you have had to go through so much. I feel for your family! I'm really happy for you that you found a man that you can trust again.
Secondly, people are ignorant. I'm embarrassed for them, and I don't even know them. When it happens again, tell them that you are a blended family and that your son loves his daddy just as much as any other son loves his father... blood or not. I am fighting the urge to tell you to tell them all to go to hell for me, but I think I'll take the high road and just wish you luck.

People will want to make a distinction. And the child should know the truth ... understand it, I mean.
If the child understands ... then it's all harmless. He knows his "real daddy" is in jail and his "new daddy" is right here playing catch with him. Kids can get it.

A father is someone who brings up the child and cares for them not the owner of the sperm, if your child chooses to call him dad then thats how he feels, if anyone dissagrees just ask them why they want to ruin a bond like that and leave your child thinking he doesnt have a dad. that should shut them up.

tell people to shut up - anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad - and if the black guy it there for you and your kids guess what hes dad

its stupid for them to say that.. i know a black lady who has two white girls with blonde hair and blue eyes. and they are her natural kids! i refused to believe it at first until i met the father. who is white with blonde hair and blue eyes also. so yes, they could be even if he wasn't thier stepfather.
