I will be 18 in two weeks. I want my parents to be out of my life. How do I go about this? Do I need to legally divorce them or do I just move out? I don't want to go into the details of why because I don't want speeches about forgiving my parents, etc. I'm just hoping that someone will just let me know the details of getting out of a relationship with parents. I don't want the to have access to my life, and I don't want them to have access to my future children.

My brother is turning the big 3-0 at the end of the month and I'm clueless as to what to get him.

He doesn't like cars or to work on them. I can't get him tools since that would be pointless.

I can't get him any movies since between him and his roomies, they have over 600 titles and I have no idea what he doesn't have.

He already has all the athletic equipment he wants.

He doesn't read and his CD collection is as impressive as the DVD/VHS one, so I have no idea what CD's he doesn't have.

I'm low on cash and I wouldn't know how much to give him for such a milestone anyway.

Any ideas?

please help.

It's about 1,000 feet to the bottom. You know that all of them will die if you don't do anything quickly. You only have time to save one of your family members.

Which one would you choose to save?

I left out some information in my last question. I DO get on the boys for not cleaning up after themselves, and they are NOT human lumps, and it really wasn't about him getting sarcastic with them. He also insults them. I know that they should get on the stick and do what they're told and I tell them all the time that they should be doing things without being told, like keeping their rooms clean, doing dishes, doing their own laundry, etc. I should have said I AM the one who does most of the reminding. He keeps his mouth shut for the most part. But when he does speak up it's never in a helpful manner. He says things like, "haven't you guys ever heard of picking up after yourselves", and "I guess nobody here knows how to read". Things like that. My question should have been whether these comments, hurtful and insulting as they are, are helping or hurting the situation. I'm in the middle and it's hurting me very much and nobody here seems to notice.

Mr "A" then marries a widow "E" who already has a child "F"
Mr "A" becomes step-father to child "F"
Mrs "E" becomes step-mother to children "B" "C" & "D"
Children "B" "C" & "D" become step-brothers and step-sisters with"F"
Widow "E" also has 2 step-children "G" & "H" from her late husbands first marriage
Children "G" & "H" are half-sisters with child "F"

OK so far!
But now for my questions!

Is there an OFFICIAL relationship (or name for it) between Mr "A" and children "G" & "H" ?

People tell me I'm rich, but I always answer my dad's rich, not me. My dad is very often criticizes how little I've accomplished at 24. But, it's just not the same having had finished college at 21 in 1965 than finishing college at 21 in 2003. My dad immediately got a well paid job; it took me 18 months to get an 0K job. at 28 my dad bought the huge house we still live in, but I just don't see a way I could possibly afford a house as big. I do the best I can, but I dunno how to make my dad see that things are harder now. I have to compete with thousands of people went to college. I can't just get a well paid just just like that, and houses are now smaller, and
I just don't make as money, I can never get a house like the one I live in. That's what I tell my dad, but he keeps criticizing my "small" accomplishments.

What would you do?

I had to move in with parents because of a situation and trying to get back on my feet. I had to start all over with my life including etting a car. I also plan on going back to school. My problem is my stepdad wants me to give him $300 a month(my mom doesn't even fork out that much money), but yet they want to treat me like i'm a damn child (i'm 25) and at the same time i'm trying to save my money so i can get out of here but he still wants that damn money. All i do is sleep, eat one meal a day, work(3rd), and help clean up around here. But yet these bills so called went up all high since i've been here. Now i'm dealing with a whole bunch of BULL while i'm here but i'm trying to remain cool about this but i don't mind giving some money but this price is too steep i'm tired of dealing with this sh** i got to put up with and just want to know does anyone agree? This is just a little short version of the problem cuz the whole story would take me all night to type.let me know peeps

Theres a long story that leads up to it and its to hard to explain. My aunt and uncle have a kid named Erik. and well he isnt doing to well. Well see he has this very rare disease and theres no care. it hurts talking about it..... and i feel bad. he already had surgery many times and the last time they took out part of his hip to run tests on.... He is already 7 and has had this disease for 7 years and most people who have this disease die in 10 years... he needs blood so my family is providing it and even that may not help him survive. i pray all the time every morning.. every night. and we just got back from camping and he seemed to really really want a puppy and my dog just had puppies. so we gave him one. God bless him......

I've always found it disturbing when people give men extra credit if they help raise or take sole responsiblity for their children. WHY? If you help to create a child and bring them into this world. Aren't you obligated to help and raise them. I am a single mother who doesn't get help from her childs father, but I don't get any awards or pats on the back. Being a parent isn't about getting props. The best reward for being a good parent is raising a beautiful (inside and out), caring, and respectable member of society.

my fiancee doesnt have a great relationship with his family and now i see why...besides his brother his family is nuts...his sister and mom both married men with money and they make fun of us because we both work and dont have alot. they make fun of our house, of how we have a lot of credit card debt, they say we never do the right thing and that my fiancee is with me only be cause we have a kid together which isnt true hes nothing like them and actaully stopped talking to them for a couple years before i came in the picture...it pisses me off and everytime i hear of more crap they say i want to call them up and ***** them out..why do they think theyre so much better than us?! i want him to yell at them but he says its not worth the fight, how should i handle this im gonna lose it if i have to hear how small by house is and how much we fail as a family which is not true at all!!? im sick of it and im sick of pretending i dont know that theyre saying it even though i know its true!!

she's ok, in general but i hate it when she tries to be so "childish" with my partner esp when i'm not around. perhaps im just being jealous (and i feel really guilty about this) but in the future, i prefer to live far from her so she wont be able to bother us. another reason could be is that, she is not like my mother. my future mom-in-law tends to become so emotional. she even cries in public. oh, well..
