But, don't panic about first cousins doing it. In a number of states, first cousins can marry legally. It was thought at one time that such close marriages will produce idiots and insane people. But, modern science has shown that this will not happen unless there is idiocy or insanity in the genes already.

Not all incest is rape of a girl by a relative. Though you are probably not up on Mexican screen, a few years ago, before she died, a biography of famous actress, Maria Felix, was printed. She did not admit having sex with her brother as such. But, she did hint it.

Let me see if I can remember her remarks. She said something like, "The perfume of incest is sweet." I don't think that is exact, but it is the general idea. She said when her parents found out why she spent all her time with him, they sent him to Military College in Mexico City where he eventually committed suicide. She said the first time she saw him in his uniform, he was so handsome her knees were trembling.

Similar things happen all over the world. I remember some years ago, a State University in Iowa asked incoming freshman a number of anonymous questions. One was:

Have you ever engaged in incestuous sex?

And, #2, were you satisfied with it?

I don't remember the percent who said, yes, and it didn't define with whom they did it.

But, I do remember about 60 or 70% of men said they were satisified with the results. And, for women, it was around 6 or 7% were satisfied with the results.

I was not surprised that only 6 or 7% of women were satisified with their incestous acts. I was surprised that it was that many women who were satisfied!

I must admit the women of my family are not such as to induce incest. They mostly look much like the men, and we are not exactly handsome. I did have a family of cousins, and they mostly looked like us. But one girl was almost a clone of Raquel Welch in her younger days. I can tell you, virtually all her cousins wanted her, though I never heard of anyone telling her so. My brother told me not long ago that at 50, she is still gorgeous.

Some years ago, a woman friend told me that she left home only after being forcibly and violently ejected by her parents after she successfully seduced her sister's husband. She didn't seem regretful about the successful seduction, only the successful ejection.

The principle reason for incest laws, in my personal opinion, is not genetic, but protection and security of the family. For example, young women should be totally safe and secure in the privacy of their own home. What sort of damage is done when an innocent girl suddenly finds her life torn apart by an aggressive step-father or even brother?

I use the girl because that is our indoctrination, but it works the same for both genders. The family, no matter what the new-agers tell you, should be a place of safety and security and learning and growing and intellectual and emotional development, not a place where you are not safe from sexual advances or abuse.

But, what do I know? I am only an evil Conservative, right?

If they are sick in the head. Makes me so sick that they will do that. It is true that if you have a child with family members they will come out mentally handicapped. I had a dog whose mother lived next door he mated with her then mated with his sister got them both pregnant. Got his daughter prenant then on and on. The dogs were just not right. We are not animals we are humans and know right from wrong. Only sick people have sex with family members.

Not in my family, but I did find out that my ex slept with his first cousin...of course, if I had known it before we were married, I probably would have called off the wedding.....it would have given me a good indication of what a snake he was.
