Family - July 2006

for some reason i do. it's just because my parents are totally opposite...and yet manage to stay together. it's just that everytime they fight...i'm always afraid that it's the last straw.

maybe i just think about divorce too much...but does anyone have advice on how to get this out of my head? thanx.

She gets her feeling hurt way to easy. I don't want to go through hearing her pout about it. I just want to go home and rest. I don't feel like eating dinner with her, and her family. I just don't want to seem like an a hole. How should I tell her?

My mother is very negative about my husband and I having a baby.

We have been together for 5 years and plan to get pregnant in a few months when I am 24 and he is 25.

We have financially and emotional stability and want to start a family.

My mother makes negative comments when we have mentioned starting a family one day.

She tries to discourage us and tells us to wait until we are in our 30’s.

I think its because my mother thinks she is too young to be a grandma in her late 40’s.

She has two other children still living at home who are 8 and 12.

I think she doesn’t “feel” like a grandma since she is still raising kids.

I am hoping her attitude will change when we tell her I am pregnant.

Any advice?

I am soon to be the single mother of an infant boy and a 2 1/2 yrold boy .I dont want to deny him the right to see his father,but his dad only wants to sell drugs to make money and blame everyone else for his problems.So what my question is , is this..whatare some helpful hints for raising boys?..how can i mold them into men who willl be accountable for themselves and treat others right?..anything you got will help..please ?

There are reasons to believe that it is not good for children to see quite a lot of violence on TV. It is suspected that they will use violence when they've grown up. You hear quite often that it's not good for children to see 'normal' sex (whatever that may be). Why? what happens? Will they also have normal sex when they grow up? Or are there even worse effects? Is there any proper study done on this subject like there has been on children and violence?

I have been with my husband for 5 years total.

On our first date I went to his house to meet him.

He introduced me to his mother and she glared at me and was rude.

She has been very aggressive with me since I married her only child.

And she has not had a boyfriend in MANY years. She also has no friends.

What do you do when you have a mother-in-law who will always hate you?

I stole her son’s attention and she hasn’t gotten over it.

I am polite to her but she is still cold to me.

He is banned from my room and my computer! his plan is too destroy my life! What should i tell him!? He is not even nice to me!! He doesn't play tricks on me but he is just so annoying and mean! one day i tried to be nice to him but he was still dang mean to me!!!!! What should i tell my parents! the bad thing i have a computer in my room and he doesn't he is always trying to barge into my room to go on my computer! and i always tell him NO! because i do not want him in there! i have signs that say stay out, knock first!(which he does not), and i have a doorhanger that you can write on! he never obeys it! When i say i am having a friend over do not go on my computer and do not go into my room! When my friend leaves i go up to my room and find him playing a dumb cartoon network game!! IN MAY i already told my parents that he gets on my nerves but all they said was that is not nice! But he is a lying jerk face that i have to live with him for like 8 more years! i am annoyed out! Help!?

I was in a really bad divorce, almost lost my son to his father who can't affort to send him a nick le in a year or just a simple call, even missed his b-day. I got really depressed my ex kicked me and my son out into the streets. I was homeless. My parents sent me money to get here and let me live with them. Away from NY. Now I met someoneand we both are in the same situation, we want to get married and move back to NY its our home I don't fi in here and I think I need to make myown decisions. My family said they would dissown me if i moved back. Also this was my second divorce and the same thing happend in a way. I am finishing school for medical assisting and saving up money to move to NY do you think I am wrong. I need to know if I am.

My parents are separated and I live with my Dad cause my mom works so many hours but I want to live with my mom cause my dad and me don't talk about things. My boyfriend just left me and I lost my best friend too and I have no friends to talk to. I want to call and ask my mom if I can move in with her but don't want to upset my dad either. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to live in this town anymore either but with my mom for a new start. I don't think my mom will listen and my dad will be upset with me.

I was 8 years old when my dad drowned, im now 16 years old. Its hard, cause i dont remember him much. I sometimes wonder what he would look like today, how he would act. he was such a good guy, only 28 years old when he died. I miss him a lot sometimes, and i dont want to talk to my mom about it because i dont want to make her sad and miss him more then she already does. How can i stop missing him so much, or find closure? Has anyone been thru this? I just would give anything to have him back, whos going to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day? :-(

My Son joined the National Guard last year when he was 17.He had a part time job,was doing well in school,and wanted to serve his country.I was proud to sign for him,and he completed basic training with a sharpshooter medal and an expert grenade medal.Since then he told me he was a soldier and a man and didn't need me anymore.He moved in with my biological mother who I recently got to know after 40 years.She completely indulged him against my wishes and she gave him no rules,no structure and no guidance.He's since quit his job,barely graduated highschool,cut himself off from his entire family,is dodging the Army so he doesn't have to go back,and hangs out with a bunch of losers who do nothing but drink and smoke dope.I ended my relationship with the biological mother and my Son refuses to talk to me.Does anyone have any suggestions?I hate to see him ruin his life.
