I have two step kids, one of each. However I am having a really hard time settling with them. They stay with us every other day and I can't wait for them to leave or go to bed. I feel I loose my husband to them, it makes me feel awful that I feel this way about children who are so innocent of it all, besides it isn't their fault their parents split. Someone help me, I can't keep living like this.

Her mother doesn't seem concerned, she works and I don't really think that she knows the extent or the dangers of this obsessive, addictive behavior.Does anyone know of any agencys or advocacys that I could confer with to help me with this problem? I do not live in the household and am hated by my ex-wife and there is no communication between us. She has brainwashed my daughter into hating me also. My ex does not allow visitation even though I haven't missed a lick on child support. Any suggestions? A Very Concerned Father, Johnny C.

My husband and I have a little disagreement. Our nephew just got his license; his parents have suggested that he could drive his younger ( by 2yrs) sister to highschool. They attend the same one. Of course the boy isn't thrilled about it.

I see nothing wrong with him driving her since they are going to the same place. My husband says it should be the boys choice whether to drive her or not. I say it's not like he has to hold her hand and walk skipping to school.

I dont care if it is the boys car, his parents should have some say, shouldn't they? The hubby and I will major disagree when it's our kids turn to drive. I think driving is a priviledge and should taken away when they screw up and I mean major screw up. I am not saying just cause he or she didn't do their chores. I mean getting caught with drugs, alcohol, using the car to ditch school, etc.

they are age 9 and nearly 14. They spend their time either playing on the computer, watching TV or eating junk (the nearly 14 one is a chocoholic) and make no attampt at finding other stuff to do. They are becoming v unhealthy fat und unfit. The 9 year old copies the other and says he likes computers because the real world is so bad and his life is so awful which is a load of rubbish: he doesn't have a clue really and i know its a philosophy he's copied off the older one who is evem scared of going to the village shop. They're good people really but i dont think its healthy for them to carry on as they are (socially and physically).
Any ideas of how i can help them?

I`m 21 living alone but in the same city with them .
I can`t stand visiting them because they`re still treating me like a child & never wanna believe that I have an independent life now & every time I visit them or give them a call turns to a big fight & you can imagine how my childhood was like!
p s : I was a lonely child.
