they are age 9 and nearly 14. They spend their time either playing on the computer, watching TV or eating junk (the nearly 14 one is a chocoholic) and make no attampt at finding other stuff to do. They are becoming v unhealthy fat und unfit. The 9 year old copies the other and says he likes computers because the real world is so bad and his life is so awful which is a load of rubbish: he doesn't have a clue really and i know its a philosophy he's copied off the older one who is evem scared of going to the village shop. They're good people really but i dont think its healthy for them to carry on as they are (socially and physically).
Any ideas of how i can help them?

Introduce both of them to outdoor physical games so that at this stage of life they exert and develop a good and healthy body first. Secondly, take them outside to swimming pool, planetarium, aquarium, science parks or nature watching sights so that they feel tempted to know more and more about the universe around.

Not meaning to sound harsh but what are you parents doing ?? and how did you manage to turn out so level headed ?
go to your mam and dad and point out to them that you are worried about your brothers they should be taking control of this situation.

If all else fails grab a football and pull them into the garden get them playing games with you.

Start by taking them out in the evening everyday. Playfield would be a good idea. Exposure is the only problem here I believe.

Take them out with you and show them new ways to have fun. If your going out places are to old for them then take them somewhere they would have fun, putt putt, bowling, swimming etc.... Get a tourism guide from your local area and take them to some of the suggested attractions.

Buy an emachine. They'll soon learn that computers can be just as bad as any other aspect of life.
