I don't think you can just blame the girls for getting pregnant.It takes two to tangle.It should not always be up to the girls to use protection.The guys should realize that if they get a girl pregnant,they have to pay child support until that child is 21 years of age.You are right it is a huge life altering thing.Plus,you said why don't they prepare for it,because allot of people figure that it won't happen to them.It will happen to someone else,not to me.

I think a lot of girls think it won't happen to them and/or they are uninformed on birthcontrol. This has boggled my mind too for a long time! I can't really imagine many 14 year olds that fully understand the responsibility involved and WANT to have a baby at that age, so I think it's just a case of letting the hormones take over and letting the precautions fall by the wayside because they think just one time being unsafe will be ok. Well it only takes one time!

I was one of those girls (age 17) and I thought I had it all figured out. I was scheduled to get birth control pills the week AFTER I had sex. My boyfriend at the time really wanted to have sex and I did too. Unfortunately, I relied on him to protect us when I should have relied on myself. Every person should take THEIR birth control in their own hands. Just this past Saturday, my 18 year old son and his 17 year old girlfriend gave birth to their son. I am a 37 year young grandmother. Am I pissed about it? Absolutely not. I have no control over when I became a grandmother but I did have control over when I became a mother. The power of choice is the greatest power in the world and EVERYONE needs to take advantage of that right.

They get pregnant because they're sleeping with guys. Both are responsible for birth control [and for the child!] not just the girl.

nobody can ever be ready for anything in life...you have to face things as they come along.........
and its not only in the girls responsibility to get pregnant,the guy is equally or infact more responsible for doing so......

because they don't think wisely before they take any action...i personaly think that having sex before getting married is not the right thing to do...even if you have protection...don't they know that there is a small possability of being pregnant???...
