Her mother doesn't seem concerned, she works and I don't really think that she knows the extent or the dangers of this obsessive, addictive behavior.Does anyone know of any agencys or advocacys that I could confer with to help me with this problem? I do not live in the household and am hated by my ex-wife and there is no communication between us. She has brainwashed my daughter into hating me also. My ex does not allow visitation even though I haven't missed a lick on child support. Any suggestions? A Very Concerned Father, Johnny C.

If you're never allowed to see your daughter, how do you know she has a problem?
I'm pretty sure it's up to the court and not your Ex whether you can visit your daughter.

I'm not sure if there are advocates for the addiction to myspace, however, you should be worried. Myspace *which I admit to being a member of* has been in the news far too often lately. In fact, I'll send you a link to a base for articles on the predators that are currently using myspace as their hunting ground. Perhaps you can show your ex wife the articles and explain your concerns with them to back it up.

How do you know for sure that you daughter is living on myspace? If you are paying child support you should be seeing your child on the regular. You should call the court and let them know what is going on and that your concerned. Your daughter is 14 so she is going to form her own opinion about you. Go to court they will make the ex allow you to see your daughter.

Well I think the best thing to do is to approach ur daughter and make her realise that you are not what her mum tells her.. explain to her about the things she is worried and slowly try to see her more.. make her like you again.. to see who her real father is.. then u can talk to her about the thing that makes u worry so much..shes a teen just act as her friend and not as a parent.. win her trust..

You need to have a talk with her.

That's the only way.

Don't expect an agency to do your work for you.

Just go in with a cool head, talk because you want to talk to her, then bring up the issue.
Good communication is EVERYTHING.

i think u should start by taking up the matter with a lawyer!! and u should consult a phycologist with this matter further with ur daughter and her pc addiction. my daughter had the same problem using her pc and with help...now she is using the computer and taking it all very lightly.

Sounds like you need a good attorney if you aren't even getting your visitation!

wow.
you might want to find a therapist and YOU talk to her about your daughters problem because if you brought your daughter in she might get mad. its pretty bad if shes on it every waking hour.

Talk to a lawyer about this, perhaps you should apply for
primary custody.
