I disagree strongly that private school teachers are better than public school teachers and would like to hear that person's reasoning and statistics provided to prove that. As a matter of fact public schools pay a lot of money to give top training for their employees and they undergo massive amounts of professional development to keep updated on the latest teaching techniques.
The reason that private and charter schools have higher achievement and academic scores is based on one crucial element, possibly two. First, of all they get to hand pick which children will be in their schools. Parents are held accountable for their own child's actions and if they do not meet the discipline standards expected of the school...........they are existed from the program and eventually are either home schooled or placed in public education. It's interesting that these facilities keep them until the fourth Friday count, so that they get all of the money for the child for the year...........On fifth Monday, public schools are overflowing with new children because the facilities already got the money and do not want to deal with the behavior problems. The other reason, is because they can be choosy, class sizes are smaller.
Public school teachers don't get to choose.......nor would they want to. They believe that all children can and will learn and work hard each day to help improve the self esteem and academic growth of the children that were not "accepted" in the other learning facilities. And they welcome them with open arms. They try to heal the hearts while strengthening the mind.

it really depends on the child. i live in an area that is supposed to have "great" public schools- even though three of them do not meet minimum competency requirements. our system is also at maximum capacity with lots of growth coming in the near future.
private schools can cost a ton of money. the teachers ARE better, the students DO learn more.(i think this is because of smaller class sizes) i got laid off and had to withdraw my child from the private school, which is o.k. i turned to homeschooling.
at least til my kids are emotionally prepared for the public school scene. (this was ugly in my day, and just gotten uglier since.) i can help prepare my children for the REAL world! it's the least i can do for the little people!

Depends on where you live and what the schools are like there, both private and public.... Price is also a thing to think about. Your child more than likely will be fine with public schools, you can't guard them from life...

Public. It's more fun for the kid and the teachers are just as good as the private schools teachers. Contrary to popular belief, some public schools are really good.
