Can you hang a bird-feeder in the tree? Or an old tire for a swing? Give it another reason for being there... is it a fruit tree? Any good arguments for leaving it there? Work with your intelligence, don't pull any tantrums because they never work.

You could try bribing him. Promise you'll get straight A's or help with the housework or something.

He might have a good reason for cutting down the tree. If you can't convince him, take some seeds from the fruit or nuts or pods or whatever on the branches, and plant a new tree.

You probably won't like my answer, but it's possible that your dad has a really good reason for cutting down the tree. Maybe it's rotten or full of bugs, or maybe he's afraid it will fall on the house in a storm. Why don't you ask him why, and maybe he can replace it with something like one of those man made tree houses that you can play in more safely, or another tree that you can plant yourself and watch grow. Maybe you can start a little garden in it's place.

Unfortunately, he owns the tree, so he can do what he wants with it. Why does he want to cut it down? If it's dead, it may be dangerous, so don't fight him.

If he has a good reason for cutting it, let him.
I hate to sound parent-ish here, but I'm guessing it's his house.
