Family - July 2006

I am 25 years old, and my husband is 26. We have been together for almost 9 yrs, and have been married for a little over 1yr. We are both college graduates, with decent jobs. I feel a strong, overwhelming desire to have a child and my husband is not ready. He does want children, however at this time he says he "feels have a child will mess up our lives". And, he frequently reminds me that "he is not ready to have a child yet". I try to be fair and understanding, however as of recent I have become completely frustrated. He is a planner, and he feels we need to have better incomes before we have children. However, our income exceeds $150,000/year, and our relative debt is minimial. I am an RN, and have very flexible schedules, therefore I would still be able to work after having a child. He says "we have a lot of time ahead of us", which is true. However, I have explained to him that there are no guarentees...it could take years to get pregnant. And the list of reasons goes on. HELP!!!!

I am a single mother raising 2 boys, ages 9 and 6. I thought that after 6 years in prison he wouldn't do anything to me. We were in a relationship before he went away but it was very abusive. For some insane reason he doesnt believe it was that bad but it was. The first time i left him I was happy until he found me, he beat me. It took months before i was able to come outside without him thinking i was going to leave. Him going to prison was a blessing. After 6 years why does he still want to hurt me. I have to move quickly, I dont know where to go or do i have any savings. What do i do and where do i go to keep us safe????? I have only one month before he gets out. Does anyone know a good place we can go???????

What can I do about a loud and boisterous mother in law?
Every time I see her, she is overly enthusiastic and I don't know how to react. It seems unsincere and fake to me. I really don't have much to say to her most of the time, and when I do It's mostly filled in with uh huh uh huh uh huh uh huh's from her, between every word I say. So, I usually don't feel like being talkative. She seems to speak down to me. I don't want to tell my man any of this, his last woman had a problem with her. I've tried to meet her enthusiasm, but it's just not me. The thing is, we see her ALOT more than my parents. He used to talk with her 10+ times a day on the phone when we got together, it's dwindled some now. He's asked me how I feel about her. I said, she's nice ( she is ) but can be a little overbearing for me. Now, it's a little too over bearing, I don't think I'll be able to break through her facade, seems like there's a wall there.

i figured out from my sisters freind that she was pregnant and having a baby in september. She is going to give it up for adoption because she and her boyfriend cant afford it. my parents knew about this but decided not to tell me and my bro because they thought we would be better off not knowing. i am extremely ticked off to put it nicely. and my parents dont understand why. i know they might have tried to do the right thing but i am angry should i not be angry about this?

Dress just like you, try to look just like you, uses the same words that you do, oddly enough likes the same things that you do even though she doesn't understand (like Russian movies and cartoons and she doesn't speak or know any russian)

i am at the point where i want to kill my dad. not really but pretty damn close. well heres the story. i am about to turn 18 in six weeks but i am still going to have to live at home for another year or so. i am a senior in high school you see. well anyway my dad does not understand that i am not his little girl anymore. i am an adult with her own needs and i just need my own life. ya know? its so difficult to be around him sometimes bc he is so controling on my life. he freaks if i do anything with out telling him even a trip to the movies is a big deal. oh and get this. i got an ipod for christmas and it broke so dad got me a new one but he wont let me have it because he thinks that since i broke the other one i should have to pay for the new one. i did not break the first one on purpose. i mean it was a freaken christmas present. oh well the point of all this drama is to ask how do i tell my dad to leave me alone and let me live my own life? i love me dad but damn ya know?

At the moment I am not speaking to my cousin over a argument and he hit me, he's been trying to talk to me. And I have been ignoring him, another argument accured over the ignoring. So I decided this is not going anywhere be nice and try and be friends now I am getting the cold treatment. How do I deal with this problem. I'd like opinions on this form of punishment. Here, I mean making a kid stay home and not have fun. I think in some cases it can be OK for a short period of time, a day or 2. But for longer periods, it is a cruel and contaproductive punishmentI I know of parents nwho for several weeks allowed their kids out of home or even at theirv rooms only to go to school or use the bathroom, without any activity at all. I think this is cruel and will probably create a strong resentment and psychological problems. It's very bad for a children or a teen to remain grounded without anything to do. Once I hard of parents who even confined their teen daughter to bed for a month, allowing her out of bed only for school or to use the bathroom (is this possible?). Punishments sometimes are necessary, but should be given with love and teach something. If a kid did something wrong, the instead of such punishments, it's much better if he or she does something to compensate for his/her mistake.

My 15yr old son just recently graduated from a Christian School that he was sent to for his behavior problems. I thought this would also help with the other problems 1 being, that he thinks he might be gay (he was also sexually abused) and the other is that alot of times he acts alot younger then his real age. I am a mother that is so lost and so angry, and so hurt. I don't really know what to do anymore. He blurts, and tells things, and acts like a child in alot of ways. I took him to work with me one day to a major hospital, for I had to deliver some papers to a police officer there in the building, I told him to stand next to the wall and I would be right back, mind you I never left his sight, but I turned my head for a second and he is sitting on the floor taking off his shoes, its not all the time that he acts this way, just sometimes. I don't want to sound harsh but I have raised my kids and now I just feel so overwhelmed with it all. Anyone have any advise...My patience is gone.

I am a 20 year old young woman who is engaged to a 24 year old man. My problem is that things have slowed down in the bedroom. Is there any men out there that would know why that is? He just isn't interested anymore. I try to make him horny, but he pushes me away. I know he aint cheating cause we both spend time at home and he goes to work and comes straight home.
