my son is 8 and he is always talkin back and being disrespectful,i spank him and put him in time out and put him on punishment. but he still pushs my buttons especially when his dad is gone he is even worse,what should i do,i dont wanna hurt him i just want him to behave better.

All we do is throw frisbees, drink beer and eat burgers. Everybody is old as dirt. They all talk to each other like they're strangers.

I just let the wife go with the kids. I honestly want them to have fun but life is too short for me to have to put up with 8 hours of stinky, old people. Same with Holidays.

Does anybody else want to boycott family get togethers? Why do women organize these stupid events? Let's face it. we'd never hang with some folks if they were not related. So why do it?

My 14 yr. old son is terriried of spiders, and I'm trying understand what it's like for him. I have a pretty good imigination, but I have trouble imagining being afraid of spiders. We do not have any very poisonous spiders where we live. When I read about someone using a neighbor's toilet because of a spider, I would find that hard to believe if not for my son. No one else in the family has this fear.

she's visiting her grandparents and doesn't want to come home becasause of the freedom to do whatever. so told her mom that that she didn't have to tell her anything and that she was grown and could do whaterever her wanted to do! what can my friend do to get her child home? my friend is a single parent, but lives a christian life and only wants what's best for her child. what can she do to get her baby home and is there a law to stop her?

My family is driving me nuts! i told my mom that she's wrong for trying to use the system she seems to think just because my bro. is bipolar that is cause for a disablity check every month and he can work nothing seems to be wrong with him b/cuz he will smoke and drink and party and can hold down a 9 to 5 but my mom makes him believe he can't do nothing more he's only 20 and has a fulll life ahead of him but he's always saying im disabled for instance he has a car and no license and was like the police had no right to give me a ticket cuz im disabled then i have an even younger bro. that's has a.d.h.d. or whatever now she thinks he needs an check once a month now a days people can not survive like that she has never put her foot down and been a mom and to me it's like the easy way out my bro. still lives at home my mom is constantly telling him to be a jigalo however you spell it anyway she wants him to find a girl to take care of him but im i wrong for wanting my family to better themself ?

me n my ex are both 17 n we went out for 5 months but thn I broke up with him because his parents were makin our lives hell ( long story), but he didnt give up and wanted me back! we got together again thn we had to break up over thm again! I dumped him about three times because of parents but all three times he did not give up and wanted 2 get bk wiv me and told people he loved me etc. thn as we started gettin closer i found out by him that he had sex with his ex (wen he was with her b4 me) but i was upset cause wen he was with me he never told me. When I was little they used to scare the crap out of me. Now that I am an adult, I think about them and crack up! Some examples from my mom are:

"I'll slap the taste out of your mouth"
"I'll knock you into next week"
"I brought you in this world, and I will take you out"

Once, she threatened to change her name to "s**t" and she said she had better not EVER hear us say that word!

I know my mother loved us, because she would also sit us down and tell us that she would die for us. But when we made her mad, look out!!

My friend talked to me about this and we decided it would be best for her if she got emancipated. Her home life is no doubt troubled and so are her parents. I think she should talk to someone about this to help her with this decision and guide her with this. Who should she talk to? A social worker? A therapist? Also, i know NOTHING about emancipation. So it would be great if you would give me some basics.

Ok, this is killing me. We have a considerable age difference (25years) but are best friends and in love. I couldn't imagine my life without him and only made it this far with his help and kindness. I have met his family and they like me (they didn't trust me at first). But we have kept our relationship a secret from mine (which is why it is killing me because I love my family and hate lying) because I was scared of what they would think about us. In fact, I was never allowed to have a boyfriend in highschool or stay at friends houses because my parents told me I would get raped for sure so that has distorted my views a bit. I just graduated college and live with my grandparents, who are much better people than my real parents, and I think the time has come to tell them. My grandma is always asking me to get a boyfriend. I have been with this man for almost 4 years and it's love. But the hard part is that I have been lying for 4 years.
