Family - July 2006

Well my mums boyfriend is a violent man when comes to drinking.My mum has had a kid with him and still stays with him. I know it hurts her when he is like that. But i know she doesnt lose him.I love my mother but he is hurting my family. I dont know what to do. I want my mum to be happy, but i cant just take my brother off her. Although i am thinking of taking him away from her if her boyfriend touches my brother or me again. But what can i do to save my brother and i without hurting my mother. Please someone help me?

I have many reasons to hate my older sister, I'll just give you one. In 2004 received a warrant for my arrest because she had been caught stealing and used my name. I had to file a police report, go to court and spend approximately 1,500 to get this all cleared up and off my record. Over the years my sister has hurt me so many times. She never says sorry. She never tries to make amends, she never shows any sign that she has a clue how much she's affected my life. she doesn't care, I know she doesn't care. I think she is a sociopath. She makes me so angry, and she isn't someone I can talk to. She's the worst liar I've ever known. The real stressor for me is, I find myself wishing she would die...I'm serious, and I know it's sick, but I hate her that much. The resentment and hate is consuming me, what can I do?

I have a step daughter, she is 27, she has a daughter who I look after 80% of the time. She has decided to marry someone who won't accept her daughter, only wants her for himself, and has been violent towards her and her daughter. We are totally against this.....I feel she should listen to her daughter who is saying "no, I don't want him to be my new daddy!" If she decides to go through this should I turn my back on them because she has chosen to be with him, or shall I leave my door open for them and pretend everything is alright.

Why is it that when I ask my older family members what our heritage is they always say American. I undestand being patriotic, but I'm also curious about BEFORE our family came to the US. Why are they being so cryptic?

My Daughter is going on 2yrs.........I'm trying to potty train her........First off is that to young.....And Second off..I take her diaper off for 2-3 hours and she will hold it, but when I put her on the potty she screams bloody murder and shows out. As soon as I put a diaper back on her she goes.......Is there a good way I can potty train her without all the DRAMA going on............or do I keep going like I'm going..........?...........=)

My 34 year old daughter now lives with me after 15 years of being married to a very abusive man, because of her daugher my sweet princess I let her live rent free , but she does not drive ( she don't know how) or does not work but provides food for her and my grand daughter who is 4 years old..

I love my daughter and she is always welcome to stay but how can I get her to live life , she is a wondeful mom and she put her daughter first but forgets her self she don't think she will ever love again and has given up and has said she is forever alone

any ideas

My little sis just turned 18 in June.She had and awesome paying job making $11 an hour and lost that,all because she met this loser guy that is 11 years older than her.She lied to our parents about his age,where she was staying,and everything else.We have all tried to talk some sense into her but shes stubborn and won't listen to any of us.He's been in and out of jail his whole life and she just thinks he's perfect!We don't think age matters and that people do change,but its just how things started off with her lieing and sneaking around.I'm so protective of my little sis I don't want to see her get hurt or into any bad situations.Then i find out that there having unprotected sex,and shes not on the pill and thinks the pull-out method is going to keep her from getting pregnant.I've tried to tell her thats how my friend got her 2 girls!And if he has any diseases,shes got them now.Im just really worried and so are my parents.She said she'd dis-own us if we tried anything, what do we do?

i have a sister who has always got to in the centre of it all. I was trying for a baby,so she desided to get there first,but i was happy for her. then after getting pregnant 2 yrs after she had her first. She asked my mum,cause my sis is pregnant,does that mean my daughter gets less attension. I told my mum i dont what any be centre of it all,if anything they should be treated the same. Then all of a sudden she got pregnant just to make sure. had all my mums attention all the way. Having my third,then all of a sudden she got pregnant,after finding out i was. Then i got divorced after an abuseth marriage.got pregnant with my bf's baby,so i am waiting for her to get pregnant too. She said she doesnt want to,but her face something else. Ever notice when when women work outside the home that the child care costs are usually factored out of their pay and not the husbands? My friends husband wants her to go back to work and he has analyzed what amount she would need to make in order to make a "profit". He included all her potential expenses such as new wardrobe, lunches, gas for the car and daycare expenses....what is left over is what she would actually be "earning" for extra income to the household. Another married friend of mine has made comments like "It seems like I can't get ahead because most of what I make goes into paying Tinytots daycare". Wondering what your thoughts are....
