Generally, there is no age limit as to how old a child has to be in order to be able to adopt. Some people, if they have someone in mind who is planing to give a baby up for adoption, can arrange for the baby to be adopted right after it is born. So, no, there is no limit to the child's age, as long as the child is up for adoption.
If you already have a person in mind, and the child is up for adoption, then all you have to do is contact the appropriate agencies and get all the legal paper work and issues dealt with. After that is done, the child is all yours.
Hope this helps, and good luck with the adoption. And I've got to say, Thanks... a lot of children out there are eligible for adoption, and by adopting, you are doing something great and changing a child's life for the better. Thanks.

As long as the parents have no parental rights to them then their age doesn't matter.
I'm not sure about if you have a person in mind. Is it a relative or a child you are already a foster parent to. If that is the case then the laws very from state to state.

They can be adopted at any age. The Osbournes adopted a family friend's son after she died from cancer. Her son was in his late teens.
