Family & Relationships - 30 May 2007

Ever since my fiance and I got engaged, his family has been horrible. I won't go into details (his family has said/done horrible things), but I will say that their negativity is unjust. I have never been anything but as polite as possible to them. The negativty stems from his mother, who is upset because she feels as if she is losing her son, who is her sole source of support, which is very unhealthy. The bottom line is that his family refuses to be supportive, no what my fiance and I say or do.

They are refusing to attend the wedding. My fiance insists that if they did they would cause a spectacle. I agree. Now he wants to elope. He thinks it'll be cheaper and easier. I want to have my dream wedding, even if only my family attends. I don't want to compromise my dream because of his family. In the back of my mind, I am hoping they will change their mind, but I know they won't. They really and truly hate me for being engaged to my fiance.

What should I do???

ok so my mom found a bottle of vodka under my sisters bed the other day IN MY SISTERS ROOM.....and she immeditaly blames me. ive told her a thousand fking times that it wasnt mine and she just doesnt listen to me. it honestly isnt mine and she keeps on calling me an alcoholic.....i cant deal with it anymore...what can i do?

If I tell him how I feel then I'm afraid it will wreck our friendship. I'm also afraid that he only likes me as a friend and would never ask me out. And i think that he likes one of my other friends. I don't want to make a fool of myself, but i like him a lot! PLEASE HELP ME!

I have been married for about 7 months but have known my husband since junior high. Therefore, I know his family very well and we are close. Our wedding planning was hell because everyone is in everyone's business...DRAMA! His cousin was in our wedding, on my side because I had felt we grew close and are close in age. Now we are no longer speaking due to an incident while we were at a bar for my husbands bday. She brought herself into our business, publicly when I had run into a high school ex of mine...drama. Now she has written me emails that have put me down in ways no one ever has. She said horrible things and brought the whole family into it. She talked down on our marriage, our wedding and me as a person. I am NOT ok with that. We have not talked since Easter and it is uncomfortable at all the constant family get togethers. People think I need to be the bigger person and forgive her, but I am extremely hurt and mad she was in my wedding feeling the way she did????

I'm friends with more guys than I am girls...it's just always been this way...whatever...anyway, while I do have 2 close girl friends who have been hurt in relationships, and I have been also...I feel like I see the guys...my boyfriend included (not from me...from an ex lol)... get cheated on or taken for granted more than the girls...I feel like I see girls doing it to guys more too. It could be just because of the small population of girlfriends vs. guy friends I have, but I wanna know what other people think. we had talked about porn early on in our relationship and had decided that we don't want each other viewing it.today i found pornography on my computer that he downloaded LAST MONTH.i am 4 months pregnant and i take this as a huge betrayal of trust.when i asked him about it he denied it, then admitted it, then blamed it on him trying to get some for his friends at work.i know that its total BS and even if it were true i feel like what he did is wrong.should i not be infuriated by this?to make matters worse, he told me its none of my f***ing business and laughed when i was bawling about it over the phone.i want to know what other people think...should i just move out and move on with my baby?or should i get over it...?thing is, he refuses to talk about it except to say i am overreacting.

I kinda don't. I say, marry your own kind and that not being mean to other races but makes it easier on both families and future children. I guess I don't mind a Malaysian marrying an Indonesian or a American marrying a British or a Russian marrying a Australian. Even though those are all different cultures but they are the same race and ethicity. I HATE it when a Indian marrries a Caucasian, people who are totally different in race, ethncity and stuff like that.

My boyfriend and I have been together 2 years. When we first started dating, we both were fresh out of college and now he's more into his career (money wise) than I am. He makes over $100K more than me - but we split our rent and all the bills. My friends think that it is unfair that he is treating me as a "roommate" and incisting that we split everything when he makes sooo much more than me. My guy friend thinks he should pay the rent and I should pay all the bills - I think this is fair. He also askes if we're in love or just roommates. What do you think?

My ex-boyfriend broke up with me a couple of months ago. I really loved him so much, I feel obviously very upset about the break up. We were together for 3 years. The thing is I told him that in order for me to move on, I need to have no contact with him. But he keeps telling me that he doesn't want to loose me completely just in case he changes his mind later. how do u give ur boyfriend of 2 months a push? ive kissed him on the cheek already and he hasnt kissed me bac yet. weve said i love you and stuff and i know he really does care. i want to hold his hand but the only time that happens is when i grab his hand. he is a shy boy to begin with. but i want him to hold me hand and kiss me too. so how do i give him the extra push without going up and saying it to him, were in school so wer enot adults, were teenagers. i dont know how to push him, or will it ever happen? My soon to be ex husband had an affair with a coworker while I was 5 months pregnant. He of course denies it and says they hooked up after he left...but everyone knows diffrent. He got her pregnant 2 months before I had my son...and know is engaged to her. He filed for divorce right after I had my baby. This woman knew I was pregnant,was his wife and didnt care! She is large (a size 20) and refuses to wear a dress. She fights with me about not looking good in anything, it seems like she doesn't even want to try to look for anything.

She said that she won't wear what I think would be cute (empire-waist dress) because it looks like a maternity dress...but does she have any other choice of something looking good on her?

I have no idea how to dress a large body... i'm a size 4. What in the heck will look good on her???
