Does he live in the apartment more than you?
Does his day have longer than 24 hours so he has more of an opportunity to spend time in the apartment?
Is he stopping you from going out and getting a career that makes that much money?
Your friends are wrong. You chose a career that made less money than the career he chose. You can't penalize him for that. Half and Half is the fair way to do it.

Well, tell him you read in a book that couples should pay bills on a percentage basis. That way, everyone pays according to their ability. So if 30% of what you make and 30% of what he makes pays the bills, that is good. You are left with 70% of your income and he is left with 70% of his income.
You can have a bank account where each of you put in the 30%. You use that back account to pay all your bills and food and such.

Valerie: "in case you're "room acquaintances" then that could desire to recommend "lily" is a slave, together with her shackle wrapped round her RING FINGER..... a number of those stupid married women folk right here sound like gold digging whores too.....LOL!!!!" the place did that come from?? putting all married women folk contained in an analogous class as "gold digging whores" is slightly lots do no longer you think of? i'm married, and whilst my husband and that i've got been in ordinary terms BF/GF we cut up each and every thing. He made extra money than me, even though it did no longer make a difference. We had a dedication then and we nevertheless cut up the expenditures with separate bills. this is in ordinary terms honest. It wasn't until eventually we've been engaged that we began to share the wealth. Joint bills, the two hands contained in the pot. It helped with the marriage, procuring a house etc. and of path we already knew that we've been in it until eventually dying do us section. IMO: it would be cut up until eventually you're married. yet do confer with him approximately this. There could desire to me a reason he would not choose for to handle extra of the funds. possibly he's grasping, selfish, or only would not see you 2 married. Who is familiar with until eventually you ask?? HTH

I say definately unfair! My bf makes a little more than me and that's exactly how we split it: he pays rent, I pay bills - and not even his cel phone bill or credit cards, just house stuff! It's a weird situation to approach, but it's not just a financial problem. He's being selfish, greedy and playing it off like he doens't even notice! Let him know how you feel!

half n half works for so long, but if the guy honestly makes THAT MUCH MORE THAN YOU, hes a cheapskate if he wont pay all the bills, but think about it, he is still gonna spend more money on you if you pay some of the bills right?

It both your place not his, 50/50. If he wants nicer things for that place then that's on him. If he's asking questions like that you should sit and talk it out, b/c that's not the kind of question you ask the person you have been with for two years.
