I like this guy in school, his name is Mike V. He is popular and I am not. He has a girlfriend Effie, and I had a crush on him ever since school started! But theres more... He is one year older then me! HELP!

I've liked many guys that are a year or two older than me...but that didn't stop me. So forget about that "problem". But since he already has a girlfriend, I woulde back off. If you don't, you will come across to people as having him cheat. I'm only thinking about your reputation. But when (or if) they break up, swoop down and snatch him up!!

Popularity doesn't matter. One year's age difference doesn't matter.
What DOES matter is that he has a girlfriend. That alone should tell you he's off limits. You need to respect their relationship, just as you would want people to respect your relationship. Do NOT attempt to split them up or be his girl "on the side." Just wait till they break up on their own - it will happen sooner or later. Meanwhile, practice your dating skills by dating other guys.

If he is happy with his girlfriend there is not much you can do. Try being in the same places he is, smile, have a friendly conversation with him. talk about things you two have in common. If he is interested at all he will let you know.
