TV,no parental guidance, stupidity, society, who knows. Maybe they just think that because of the high divorce rate, why get married just to get divorced when all they really want is a quick family for whatever reason. They obvisiously dont think about the pressures of parenthood and the future ramifications of raising a child in todays world as a single parent. States have cut school funds so sex education is no longer taught in schoolsso we have become a product of our own society. Many are themselves a product of a non-married relationship learning from experience. Then theres TV with all its single parent shows and soap operas that help nothing. The farther we progress, the farther we fall behind

Many reasons... Some pregnancies are accidental, and the unmarried parents choose not to abort. Sometimes, women use pregnancies to try and manipulate their S.O. into marriage, but it doesn't always work. Some women choose to have children anyway, even if they haven't found a person suitable to be a husband. Of course, there are always people who feel that this whole "marriage" thing is over-rated, and that they don't need to have some official "certificate" stating they're a family. It's not about being "easy" or "difficult", it is a matter of circumstances and personal choices.

I'm conservative, too....I don't think it is responsible to have children if you are not married.
Sure, a lot of people do it- especially young people who think they know better- and they are the ones who are bringing innocent children into this world. Children are having children...and you cannot teach what you do not know, or give what you do not have.
Many people think religion and having moral values is stupid, and they are so wrong....! It is precisely having morals and scruples what prevents us from harming others and from making bad decisions.
Marriage is not perfect; but it is designed to make people think hard about it and to really question themselves if they are ready for such a big commitment. Unfortunately, it takes two to tango and many times it's just one of the partners the one that is trying to make it work.
Just my opinion.

Women are having children without getting married because they are giving in to the guys who want the sex without the commitment of marriage or the responsibility of being a full time father to the child.
Once women realize that they truly have control over this, and hold the man and themselves to higher standards, this practice will greatly decrease, if not totally be eliminated.

It is not difficult and you cannot blame these peoples "values" on their parents. Things happen and lets face it, its not the 1920's anymore. In this day in age you see everyone having and adopting children on their own and they turn out fine. Some people like to B*tch about their lives and cause drama.
Life as we all know it will never be the way it was back then when men walked around "courting" women and whisking them off to their very own fairy tale wedding. Not everyone is the same.

No I agree with you. I know a girl who found a boyfriend and intentionally had a kid with him when he was 18 or 19. They refused to get married, because "he loves me." Well they had a kit in December, and in February she caught him in a bar with another girl. Needless to say he doesn't live at home anymore, and she can't afford the mortgage payment, especially since the house is in his name. Now I bet she's wishing she got married. But in the meantime, she is on welfare, and kids are on wic, so they're like you're kids, at least you're paying for them.

I don't know why people do this. They probably think that it is mor convenient to do things that way then to be permenantly binded to someone. But when you have a child, either way it goes you are still binded to that person. To get a better answer ask someone who has had a child out of wedlock. Good Luck!

The modern generation believe in theories based on science , not religion. They are now questioning what was once their religious beliefs. Marriage therefore is not an important requisite before having children.

I'm one of those other women who are wondering the same thing. I think that it's better to have kids AFTER YOU GET MARRIED. Sorry, but the single mother thing just ain't cuttin' it.
