I live with my grandpa, but I've realized that most of my family members are horribly emotionally abusive towards anyone they see as weak or different from them, including me and my younger cousins. I see my aunts and uncles alot, and they usually have nothing good to say about me, they gossip about me and my friends and they put me down constantly. Its not constructive criticism either, I don't know anyone whose family does this to them besides mine, except my one friend, who I recently had to get away from because she's become very nasty too, taking about me behind my back, belittling me in front of others..etc.

I can't get away from people's constant put-downs, insults, and I don't know what to do about it. I could move to Florida with my Mom, my half-brother and my stepsister, but all they do is baby me and they never let me do anything and they spoil me rotten... it seems like its either one extreme or another.

I keep having anxiety attacks whenever I'm around my other family members, but I know if I move away and my Mom and siblings will baby me all the time, and they won't let me do anything for myself, like get a job... or do anything... that isn't healthy either.

It's not tough love, I've thought about that and there is a big difference... I don't believe I deserve to be called stupid or belittled in public as often as they do.. I just can't take it anymore.. my grandpa loves his kids, and he doesn't really pay attention or care whenever they say these hurtful things to me... I can't confront them about it.. I've tried, and I only get laughed at and ridiculed more..

Help.. what can I do?

I'm moving to college in about 7-8 months... there has to be something I can do until then..

She's absolutely crazy she's had three people in my family thrown in jail. She hits my brother. I've been to court so many times. Where I live the police department won't do anything. I need help!

I have a dilemma that I find difficult to deal with. My brother's wife launched an all out attack of me in February 2006, completely out of the blue, no warning...nothing. I was stunned.
I decided the best route to take was to let it go and not fuel the situation. I did ask her in the beginning what had happened for her to feel so angry at me, only to be screamed at and accused of things that are simply not true. It almost borders on comical the things she is accusing me of...My brother is baffled too.

I cannot continue to allow this verbal abuse and attack of my characater...it is becoming slanderous at this point. I need to find the best way to tell her to back off now...I must let her know that she has crossed the line, and I will not tolerate any more of her verbal abuse, and bring an end to this nonsense once and for all.

Any suggestions on what would be the best way to do this? It has become necessary that I insist she stop her ridiculous behavior.

Didn't get many answers the first time, so here goes again. I like a girl. I thought she liked me too, and she actually still may a little. When I told her how I felt she said she wasn't looking for a relationship at the moment, but wanted to get to know me better. We talked for the last 2 months. I didn't think I ever came on too strong, but I think she does. She doesn't really talk to me now, and when I apologized, she said we were still friends, but she still acts differently, either mad, or kind of afraid. I think she feels I am obsessed with her, or was trying to push her into a relationship. I wasn't. I never even asked for one. I'm fine with being just friends, but how do I get her to believe me. If I keep trying to talk to her, or apologizing, I'll really look obsessed with her. She'll think I'm psycho! I really want her back as a friend, even if she never wants a relationship. I really like being with her, even just as friends. What can I do?

My friend is gorgeous and will be 50 this year. She attracts guys that are any where from late twenties through early 40's. She looks like she's in her late 30's - early 40's and is proud of her age and has a body to die for. She doesn't have much for money and is spoiled by these guys. She doesn't have to sleep with them and her kisses are expensive. She say's she's waiting for someone more her age to come along. I told her age doesn't matter. What do you think?

I'm 18 years old with a high maturity level, I've been seeing a man who is 30. We have a lot in common and we can talk for hours if we get the chance. I'm out of high school and I work a lot so we don't even see each other that often. My parents think that it's odd that a 30 year old is interested in their 18 year old daughter. Is it really too much of a difference? (12 years)

I don't get that. When I see them in the malls I'm like "why do they like dating out our house maids?", I don't think they look good together.

Our 18 year old daugher, Miss I Know What I'm Doing, moved back home after only 4 mnths. She moved out with her g'friend. They paid the first month's rent at their apartment and didn't pay any more. They were evicted. Now, she knew before she moved that we wouldn't be able to help much because her dad got caught in a mass lay-off and ended up with a lower paying job. I work as well. We also have 3 younger children. We told her if she moved back home, she'd have to pay rent, car ins. and pitch in on food. All total it only amnts to about $200 a month. Cheap if you ask me. She has a job - if she goes - and brings home a little over $200/week. She's not offd to do ANYTHING since being home. She complains about everything. She also owes about $9,000 after being on her own for 4 months. She seems perfectly happy with the minimal job she has and doesn't care to pay a thing. I said to give her a time limit, make her save money, pay bills, dad's not sure. Any suggestions?

1) i've got a friend who is very charismatic - she's very emotional and very cheerful. at the same time she's not reliable at all, she always can let you face to face with your problem. Besides, she always disturbs me from work!! i want to be friends with her, but i realize that i can't stand her influence and concentrate on my interests. and she's in my class...
2) I've got a friend who's very easy to communicate with, but she's very bitchy. she's very nice and understanding, but i feel that beside my back she can tell my secrets and talk about me bad things. but i still communicate with her and keep on telling her what i feel! from the other side, I hate her and i realize that deep inside she feels the same
i don't want to be dependable person and to follow others! but i'm completely lost!.. need a good advice!

this is my problem: I am a good looking, charming, sexy guy, and, at my age, I already know well what kind of sensation I produce in a woman: attraction (that is a fact; so I dont pretend being modest here). I noticed that when I come accross an above average looking girl, she usually looks at me, keeps looking at me, starts flirting, even smiles at me. But when I come accross an average looking girl (or slighlty below average), she always prettends that I am an inferior being not even worth to give me the time of the day. I know about all the theory regarding insecurities, lack of self confidence, shyness, etc. But I think there is something else and I cannot completely grasp. Does anyone have a clue of why the differnt behavior among women out there? I am interested in the oipinion of both guys and women. I live in the U.S., so dont bring up any exotic cultural issues.

I am a college sr and I grad. in May. I am white, 22yr old male. I grew up an army kid (until 10) and I was always around tons of different people & different cultures although it was NEVER SEEN AS A BAD "DIFFERENT." Anyways, I want to date interracially, but my parents don't agree with it. They aren't really racist, they just think that white m and white f should only date each other, latin m & latin f should, etc (Everyone with thier own race). I TOTALLY DISAGREE because I am not attracted by color nor do I stop liking someone/being attracted to someone because she just happens to be of another skin tone. I am heavily attracted to black and latin girls, white girls really don't do much for me. My mom says she don't care really. My dad is total opposite. He comments on people negatively who do & we have had arguments about it in the past. The thing is, I still live with them until May, but I wanna start now. What should I do? Go ahead with my heart or wait a few more months? I'm torn
