I don't undesrtand the concept of showing appreciation.
My husband runs his own business and pays all the bills and he says that I need to show appreciation for what he does.
I manage our house. (including the dogs) Plus I work part time for him without pay.
I'm also a full time college student and I'm always busy.
he wants me to work more at the house, making him special dinners all the time. I'm not even a cook. but I try. (actually, I hate the kitchen) but he wants me to go buy ingredients that we don't have late at night when I'm done for the day. He is into food and likes to be treated like a king. I don't give in all the time. I think that he is being abusive. He asks too much and he makes a mess in the house.

he says that I don't show appreciation and that I just don't get it.

Anyway, I'm a very young 50-something, and hit it off well on the internet and phone with this guy a few years younger than me. Had a date and he doesn't call me back. Just 'cause I had to go home early when we got back to his place?!? I mean, please! My son was sick. What's with these guys?!? The guys my age are 50 going on 75! It was all hot and heavy on the internet and the telephone, and then...nothing. I guess I thought I'd be more attracted.

I didn't like him at the time, but now I think I do. We are in one class together, and I'd like to approach him and have a convo, but i don't know how to go about it, without coming off as a weirdo. We don;t act like it never happened, we acknowledge each other in the hall, say hi...help!

My gf(1 week so far) had a bf for 5 years, and she just left him after having been unhappy for the past few years. I am with her now, and we are both really in love.

She doesn't want anything to do with her ex, but he doesnt listen. He continues to call her all the time, as well as go to her house to see her. The conversation that I have had with him on the phone only involved him bitching at me about letting him see her, but neither her nor I want anything to do with this guy anymore. He is becoming an increasing impediment to our relationship.

Sure, I can understand that after being with someone for that long, he would want to still communicate with her, but the opposite doesnt hold true.

Please give me your opinion on how to deal with this guy; how to finally get him to 'step aside' and leave us alone.

thank you a lot. i really appreciate this.

she had an afair with a co-worker for about two months. she claims to have only slept with this guy once but has been to his house several times. while at his house she said they use to talk about her problems and he would try to console her. as the friendship grew so this the desire to be intimate with this young man. after trying 4 times she finnaly gave in to him. she claims that the young man couldn't keep an erection because he had been drinking and he took some ecstacy. i don't believe a word of it. she claims that he was smaller than me and that she felt bad afterwards and she couldn't believe what she had done. i wanted to believe that she was sorry but she went back to him. she said that it was no sex involved but that they just talked because she knew she couldn't talk to me. do i trust her and let her back in my life we share three kids and a beautiful home. i love her and want to forgive her but i cant stop thinking about the past.

I mean when your own dad isn't able to love you it takes its toll. That mixed in with the craziness of him using the words, "I love you" but his behavior and actions were far from loving and actually opposite of it. In any case, it has deeply damaged me over the years in the choices I have made relationship wise. I got to a point where I deny myself of all loving potential because of the hurt I carry regarding my dad. So, now that I am older and understand in my head that I deserve love, how do I really grasp that belief and manifest it and let go of the injuries that were ground into me via my father?
