My gf(1 week so far) had a bf for 5 years, and she just left him after having been unhappy for the past few years. I am with her now, and we are both really in love.

She doesn't want anything to do with her ex, but he doesnt listen. He continues to call her all the time, as well as go to her house to see her. The conversation that I have had with him on the phone only involved him bitching at me about letting him see her, but neither her nor I want anything to do with this guy anymore. He is becoming an increasing impediment to our relationship.

Sure, I can understand that after being with someone for that long, he would want to still communicate with her, but the opposite doesnt hold true.

Please give me your opinion on how to deal with this guy; how to finally get him to 'step aside' and leave us alone.

thank you a lot. i really appreciate this.

If she doesn't want him around she needs to tell him to stay away or she is going to file harrasment charges on him and she needs to call the police. Something like that can turn dangerous. My ex of 9 years (Thank God) use to do that to me I couldn't get away from him for anything and it took 3 restraining orders and a couple of police reports and I finally got him gone. But I'm telling you it could become serious!!! I never thought my ex would have hurt me I just thought he was having a hard time letting go and I can remember on several occasions where he has pulled a gun, ran us off the road, beat the crap out of me! So BECAREFUL!!!!

You can try a million different ways to get rid of this guy and it's not going to mean anything coming from you. It's up to your gf to get rid of him. If she wants nothing to do with him then she should block his calls and if he's coming to her house, then she needs call the police and file a restraining order. There are ways she can get rid of her ex if she wants to. I'm not so sure she wants to get him out of her life. Someone who's been in a relationship for five years and has been unhappy for the past few years is on the rebound and has some baggage. You need to reconsider this relationship if you do not want a lot of drama.

If she had consistently been very candy and demanding then why did you go away her? You made the main perfect important mistake. What do u anticipate from a woman after dumping and hurting her for yet yet another woman, who's her optimal perfect pal. i anticipate she is first value and your friends have some uncomplicated journey and found out which you're a cheat. You had a candy Gf and you dumped her for a woman who's selfish. guy or woman who dont even care abt friends and you.

Did you know this guy before you started going out with his ex?
Tell her to block his calls and to get a restraining order if he keeps on showing up unwelcomed to her place.
You guys have only been going out for one week though..just wait a couple of months until you decide to take such measures.

There is not to much that you can really do. Sit back and let him keep looking like a fool. you have only been going out with this gal for 1 week. you dont have to act like the hero; if he comes at you make him pay.

Don't antagonize him. Let him know he needs to leave you alone. If he is not leaving your door when asked call the law. It will take him a little bit to understand since a long relationship.

if he's harassing you and your gf, you should go to the police but if he's just being a nuisance to your love life, try and ignore it and change your phone no. and if that doesn't work, move house and get a restraining order.
