I didn't like him at the time, but now I think I do. We are in one class together, and I'd like to approach him and have a convo, but i don't know how to go about it, without coming off as a weirdo. We don;t act like it never happened, we acknowledge each other in the hall, say hi...help!

Maybe you can begin the conversation by asking him questions like as follows:
What are you doing this weekend? Are you interested in anything? Would you like to go out for some movie-watching? Any plans for the upcoming holidays?
How are your classes going so far? Anything fun going on? Are you going out sometime? Mind if I join?
Do you like football? Have you been watching the show lately? Any favorite sport players?
Good luck and have fun with that. Ask him things as of interest.

Why don't you just invite him out when you're going out with some friends, or tell him you need a guys opinion on something...
