work two jobs... and I don't mean that sarcastically but that is what it takes now days. I am a single mother and believe me I raised three boys. Human Service is suppose to be there to help single parents, but instead they try to degrade you and make you feel that you have done something that is wrong. I wish that people in general would realize that there are some people that truly need help and are not trying to use the system.

Boy, you are telling me. I make good money at my job but still seem to be broke due to my childcare bills, rent, car, etc. When you are where I am financially the government says I make too much to get help but at the same time I only work to pay my bills. Unfortunately where I live there is nothing to do in this situation but be broke.

Do you mean State Human Services? Almost every town/city has something called Catholic Charities. Check with them. Also, look for a phone number for a women's shelter. They can point you in the right direction. Do you belong to a church? Maybe approach the pastor if you do.

Local goverment social services - considerable fed funding for afterschool and day care - can be in form of vouchers or direct payment to operator. Do a web wearch for "day care" and "subsidy" and where you live. As a side note answers can be more specific if you say in "miami" etc. Good luck finding and w school.
