I'm seriously thinking of marrying my boyfriend Brandon. He lives in Texas and his mother is in California, but they have a very close relationship. We have been discussing marriage, and he told me a few weeks ago that he would like to give me a ring that was his great-grandmother's ring as my engagement ring. Of course, I was very touched that he wants to do this but at the same time I have mixed feelings about it. I haven't met his mother yet (She's coming to visit this week and we're all having dinner together). Brandon tells me a lot about what his mother has advised him concerning our relationship. He even betrayed my confidence once by telling his mother something personal about me when I asked him to keep it to himself. He and I are very much in love and want to be married, but I am concerned that his mother may cause problems. I don't want to have to feel like I'm competing with his mother for Brandon. Any thoughts?

Just started dating a new guy and ironically after we had the "state of the union" address we got in a huge fight the next day. Among the things working against us are 1 1/2 hour distance and a "serious clash of personalities"...mainly he things I dominate the conversation and I think he gets frustrated w/me too easily (it is the very early stages of this relationship). Please give me advice on explaining to him that nobody's perfect and we can work w/our differences.

I like her and I think I should tell her, but I have known her 2 years and we are best friends. Should I tell her? When and how? One day, at a bus stop there was a girl who was wearing a skintight miniskirt. When the bus arrived and it was her turn to get on, she realized that her skirt was so tight she couldn't get her foot high enough to reach to step.
Thinking it would give her enough slack to raise her leg, she reached back and unzipped her skirt a little. She still could not reach the step. Embarrassed, she reached back once again to unzip it a little more. Still, she couldn't reach the step.

So, with her skirt zipper halfway down, she reached back and unzipped her skirt all the way. Thinking that she could get on the step now, she lifted up her leg only to realize that she still couldn't reach the step.

So, seeing how embarrassed the girl was, the man standing behind her put his hands around her waist and lifted her up on to the first step of the bus. The girl turned around furiously and said, "How dare you touch my body that way, I don't even know you!"

Shocked, the man says, "Well, ma'am, after you reached around and unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured that we were friends."

When I was younger I always went after the guys that weren't right for me. The realtionships were intense and passionate and also unhealthy and troublesome. But in the bedroom, they were amazing. I grew up and realized what I wanted in a man and then found him. He is my best friend and extremely kind and loyal. We have been together 7 years. If we work at it can we keep the passion in our relationship indefinitely? If you have a similiar experience please share your opinion/story.

here's the deal,he's been after me to like him for quite a while initially i said no because i knew exactly what he wanted and i was right i did end up sort of giving in- kissing etc-this week i showed up and he made a pretext to get me into a back room then told me he had told the rest of the guys not to come in- apparently they knew what was going on a were ok with it- because - according to him he is closely related to a gang of some sort...? so we made out and I think it was awful- I dont like him that much and he was really brutal - I am totally new to this whole thing- so i probably sucked too.the expereince was enlightening but - i dont want it to happen again- but I have to work thurs I work night shifts and there is no proper supervisor.I would just quit but I cant that short notice and need a job first. cant tell my parents they would be so upset I am just afraid that if it happens again I wont be able to stop him from going all the way bec he is strong and doesnt listen.

I have been divorced for 2 years now....I have been on a divorced board for some time and have been chatting with a man who will be divorced at the end of the month.....we are friends and would like to meet after his divorce, only problem is that I am so far along then he is and could possibly be attracted and fall for this man....and since he is going to be newly divorce is not ready for any kind of relationship at this time....my question is, what do I do, do I meet with him as a friend and keep any feelings that I might have or get for him to myself in the future? Has anyone who has been divorced ever entered into another relationship soon after? should I just meet with him as a friend see how things go...if I find that I like what I see just continue being his friend until he is ready for a relationship in the future? and how long could it take to enter into another relationship? thanks for the replies

This is sort of a an interesting situation. My ex-husband and his new wife are thinking about moving to Ireland and they want to know if I will let the kids visit them out there. I am a little concerned about them not letting the kids return, but the kids are 12 and 9 so I think it would be okay. My biggest concern is child support and health insurance. I had child support issues in the past. He spent a couple of nights in jail and has has been better since, but in Ireland it will be harder to regulate and make him pay if he doesn't want to. Also, Ireland apparently has public health care so he would have to get individual coverage for the kids (since I don't have group) which is not as good of coverage and there is also the issue of me having a harder time enforcing the divorce decree with him out of the country. What would you do? Does anybody know anything about Ireland as it pertaints to this situation?

I head recently broken up with this guy I was seeing for a couple of weeks. I had told him that since I was pre-med major, that I don't want a relationship. He's still carrying on as if the break up did n't happen. To make matters worse, he got upset that I told him that they only reason that he's even around is because o my future money-making potential. He then went in talking about Oh I am going to bring you into the studio and I am about to get signed, blah, blah, blah. I still think that he's just around for my major . When I said that, I was suprized that he was THAT mad. I feel that If it is not true, he would n't be that mad. I still dont' trust him and are more sure, now, than ever that I have no choice but to put him out of life. I don't think that even saying that we would be friends would be a good idea at this point. Please help me cause i told him that I would give an answer by the end of the week. I agreewith ma on him. He's gotta go. End of discussion.

I think I am a reasonably attractive woman. I am 5'11", blonde hair, brown eyes, smooth complection. However, I am not skinny...I am about 20 lbs. overweight. I'm not huge, nor am I all flabby. I guess my question is whether or not a guy sees me for a pretty girl, or a fat pretty girl? Don't really know if this question makes sense, but there it is.
