Marriage mean different things to men and women.

For a woman marriage is an investment in time....a Win/Win situation, where by a few years investment brings heavy dividends esp. if she is willing to have a child or two.

For a man its a pipe dream....All that he hoped and dreamed marriage would bring, happiness, stress free life with less worries will all be dashed in short order.....already men have excepted the fact that the usual conviences of marriage once enjoyed by men of generations past are long gone and never to return, such as a meal on the table everyday, house cleaned, cloths washed etc. These things are all but a distant memory, a relic of the past...replaced by a judgement for at least half of your net worth just for saying the words "I do".

If your a male and dont have an very urgent need to procreate marriage is not a wise choice for a life style...the trade off for occasional lonleiness is not worth it.

i was married for almost 4 years and now ive been single for 2 years. i would love to have back that constant companionship of marriage. most things remain the same, you can still go out and do stuff. if you dont want to be alone then hey, you always have a date but if you do want to go solo you know you're coming home to your mate and they will be waiting.

When you're married, you have to get your spouse's approval before you do any of those things. You end up needing their opinion more than your own. That's why I'm never getting married.
