My father passed away suddenly 4 days ago after a long illness. It has not fully hit me yet that he is no longer with us. I have been to a few funerals before, but I am dreading going to his tomorrow.

I work on a PC helpdesk in an environment where there is a lot of people who me. So far they have been great, they have sent cards and flowers, and messages of support.

My problem is what would you consider a reasonable time off work to grieve properly and sort issues relating to the death out ?

I will need to face the people at my work at some point, but I am afraid in case I go back too soon and breakdown.

Does anyone have any experience of this ?

Ok, my girlfriend is away on holiday in portugal judging a trampolining competition (shes a gymanst) and shes sharing a room with her 'best friend' rob (who she mentions quite often) they both work at the same gym and she says they are just good mates but theres like 30 other people from the Gym that are also her friends but female so why she have to share it with a male? once had this encounter..talked on the phone with some1 i didnt know at all for about three months not knowing the face behind the voice..okay..we finally met eye to eye..he was a hitch!!!..we then met for the second time..this time we kissed(passionately)..he left again..and since we kissed he never stopped calling..so what i am trying to figure out is..

I know this may sound absurd but... why is it so hard to find friends my age (19) that are more like me? Everyone I hang out with smokes (not just cigarettes either), drinks, and is always in a bad mood. I've always wanted to throw a dinner party but I know they'll end up arriving stoned. I just find it difficult to surround myself with (dare I say) more sophisticated friends. Am I being conceited or is it a reasonable wish?

My fiancee lost his job. We have had alot of "speed bumps" in our lives during the past year. but come on it has been a year since he had steady employment... Now he is convinced his trouble with employment is the result of ADHD. (He has self diagnosed by taking an evaluation online) How do I bring him back to reality without being a B**** or making it seem like I'm telling him what to do.

Me and my ex broke up a year and a half ago when I moved to college because he could not handle the long distance. We havve continued to stay friends and both still have strong emotions for each other. He just said we are both living seperate lives and it was too hard for him. He calls me about every two weeks and we see each other now and then. Im separated from my husband only a few months and the person he cheated on and now that person his with is being unfaithful. anyway I got a phone call from one of my best friend that they say my husbands girlfriend holding hands with someone else and they was smooching.
