I read most of the answers and you can really tell that they are all answered by very young, unmarried women. Only one response was accurate.

The majority of couples will fall asleep in a big heap at the end of the night. There is none of that 'hollywood' honeymoon night of love making.

On the wedding day you are up at the crack of dawn, getting ready, getting your hair and makeup done, making sure all the wedding party is dressed and ready to attend the service. Most services last a minimum of an hour, then there are the photo shoots, and the reception. The whole day the bride would be stressing that everything goes to plan, the groom will be having a few too many drinks. Aslo most brides want their wedding during summer so the weather will be hot and draining.

When you leave the reception after such a stressful day the last thing on your mind would be sex. Better to have a good rest and wake up the next morning/afternoon feeling refreshed and happy that the wedding was a success and celebrate together then.

Unless you elope and have a quicky Las Vegas wedding don't expect to a wild time in the hotel room after.

Real people dont sleep on their wedding nights, so the question of waking up does not arise at all

After being on our feet all day and evening, We had a catholic mass, followed by an hour of photo, and a 6 hour reception. We were so tired and a little tipsy that by the time we got away a to our room and he figured out how to get my dress off (another half hour) We just fell asleep. But we did wake up rather early and I think the rooms next to us did to!

Depends on when you held your reception at and how long it last till and also when is your honeymoon?
For instance, if your reception is at night and it lasted till 1-2AM, you'd probably be exhausted from all that partying and drinking to do anything else but sleep. If you have the energy for your wedding night, more power to you, but your mate probably is too tired. And let's say that your honeymoon is on the next day and you have to catch a 6-7am flight, I doubt you'd have much time to sleep.

Well, if they sleep at all, they most likely fall asleep in each others arms. It is nice to wake up in your spouses arms, and then to get up for an early breakfast.
