I just saw on the yahoo news that the foremost scientific minds have moved us in effect '5 minutes' closer to armageddon... which in effect means that we are closer than ever with only 5 minutes remaining.

(The 5 minutes is basically a chart based on the movement of a clock ((the last 5 minute move was 40 years ago))

I think the government or whoever is in charge of saving the world should actually take a drastic step towards solving this whole mess. For example conduct mass production of the "HYBRID" cars and replace them with our existing cars? If they cared that much they would at least try and make this whole thing easy and believable. I would love to have a car that is environmentally friendly but I just can't afford it. If it's so important why not make it extremely affordable so EVERYONE can buy one. The only people able to afford them are the ones who want the opposite, some big SUV. Those are just some things that concern me. This is happening and we need to make some BIGGG changes or it'll be to late.

On the back of their cartons, they say that they are committed to a healthy earth. I don't see how making containers out of unrecyclable wax cardboard is conducive to making the environment healthier.

Why? What difference does it make? More than 95% of all the species that ever lived have gone extinct. Talk about pointless.

Why are we now given all the responsibility now, I agree we should all contribute, but why is Bush concentrating on Iraq when the place we/he lives in can be destroyed. Why isn't anything more being done? I am frustrated! How can we get this point across? They can do way more than we can?

Not the entire coastline is used by tourists, so doesn`t it make sense to use Tidal power or hydroelectric--why spend a lot of money on solar power plants if it is unnecessary?

What if the scientists are correct an d the planet is effectivly dying from greenhouse gasses--why won't the "Baby Boomer gen" admit that it really could be true? The White House is basiclly making a u-turn in their stance on the subject--remember the polor bears-Would it be diiferent if the President wasn't vested in oil?It seeems sad that people are not taking anything serious unless it gives them power or money-they seem to go hand and hand!! The evidence points to a mass extinction with in 50 yrs and the government is doing nothing about it-why??? An example of this is in the herring. The numbers of this fish and it's close-nit ecosystem are all plunging-seals,whales, photo plainkton-maybe soon even mankind--at least we will have money and power-right?
