It is quite clear to me a lot more money could be made by processing trash into useful raw material. The use of reprocessed raw material would also reduce the pressure on the environment by reducing the amount of new raw material needed for industry.

Then, what is the annual global amount of carbon dioxide released from fizzy drinks ? Are fizzy drinks bad for the planet or an ideal way to cool down as the planet gets hotter ?

i am trying to improve the way i eat by incorporating more whole
foods into my diet and choosing less processed foods.
i also have recently become very interested in organic food and have been eating some organic fruits, vegetables, and cereal.
i have found the prices are slightly higher and think the overall benefit is worth the money.
however at this time i don't plan to go strictly organic and wonder
if incorporating a small amount of organic foods along with
other whole foods going to make that much of a difference.
what do you think?

Recently I've been making more of an effort to be "green" - recycling, re-using, etc, but I'm wondering if there is much point. For every good thing I do to contribute to the environment, there are at least 5 people in China counteracting my efforts (given the poor record of conservation and environmental awareness there allied to the woeful effieciency). Do the efforts I make have any impact whatsoever, or is it simply to make me feel better about myself and enables the UK government to show to the international community that theya re committed to cleaning up the world?

Why do Experts,& goverments say that the Global warming is due to the emmissions from: cars, factory`s and Pigs giving off wind!
When they are testing Nuclear weapons under and above ground going off around the world and the Experts wipe these facts, or just ignore them as being part of the problem of the warming process!!!!!

Global warming is real. We can feel it. It has been the subject of much discussion but many of us don't know exactly what to do in our own little ways to help at least minimize or stop this problem. Governments talks a lot about it but action is not enough. We are running out of time. I am afraid the movie "Day After Tomorrow" will be a reality. If we are going to wait for the government for very concrete action, it might be too late, because people in the governments are more concern with power and politics. What can we do as an individual because I think if all our actions as individuals are put together, the effect would be greater?

Yet is it all pointless when my neighbours don't recycle, have their heating on full with the windows open and leave every light in the house on?

Should the government just ban production of petrol driven cars? This would include leaving all that have already been sold to run the streets, it would only affect the manufacturing process. Therefore, as more cars get knackered more green cars will be sold. A simple solution. what do you think?

I mean there HAS always been a hole in the ozone. And it is highly unlikely that one time in 5 billion years, one day it extremely hot.

Personally, I think its a bunch of crap to get people worried.

I am worried. I haven't seen the TRUE_RUSSIAN_WINTER this year. It looks like autumn! green grass starts to grow where should be snow-and-snow-and-snow... Some birds didn't fly to the wormer place etc.
Are YOU worried?
Did YOU notice anything of that kind?

When the weather is interesting like it is today I occasionally try to view it via one of several webcams that claim to exist along our coast.

The experience is invariably a waste of time. About half the links do not even take you anywhere. Then the ones you do find only contain static images that maybe replenish every minute or so.

My prize for the most disappointing one must go to the BBC, who have one looking at Brighton seafront which updates every TEN minutes!

Then you see one that claims to be 'live', but it is the same old lie - updating only every minute or so, and even then only if you sit there pressing the refresh key.

This situation is not good enough. The technology to put actual live footage on the web is cheap and everywhere.

Think about it, we've had ice ages and drought thousands of years ago when there were far fewer emissions.
