Seeing as how we can produce carbon dioxide as a solid (dry ice). We do this by taking Elemental Carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere and chilling it to such a low temperature that it goes from gas to a sold. Can we(the people of the world) produce enough carbon dioxide in the form of dry ice and then load it up on a space ship and then just "dump" it into space? Is this even economically viable? What would some repercussions of this be and if this is possible and is also economically viable could this not also help with global climate change(global warming)?

How can penguins stand on ice and snow for days on end and not get frozen feet? I'd love to know how they manage to keep their feet from freezing.

On tonight's news there was film of Arnie, addressing cameras, saying that his State, "would be a leader in the fight against greenhouse gases." He would, "do all in his power, whatever it took, to reduce emissions significantly". He said that, "due to scientific research, global warming, had proved to be a reality and could not now be disputed. Emissions from cars, industry and other sources within the state had to be cut substantially. They will be the most proactive, in the fight against greenhouse gases, unlike the U.S. Government."

Have you seen any of this on your American TV, or newspapers?

To the following Haiku/statement, say whether or not you agree or disagree, and why?:

"A disused lighthouse
Is a wind power turbine
Waiting to happen."

Disused lighthouses are often out of the way of towns and can take advantage of the full force of the coastal winds, plus they're structurally similar to windmills anyway.

I'm sure there are many engineering and planning issues in converting lighthouses to wind turbines, but is this idea even a little bit viable? I'd love to see it happen!

There's even a scientist who's working on a high-altitude wind power kite! True story.

I'm starting to look into Global Warming a little bit more but I have some curious questions.

1.) If Global Warming IS our fault, then why was their an Ice Age (which I suppose is Global Cooling) before man even had the tools to pollute the air?

2.) Maybe it's just me not trusting scientists, but wasn't it only 20 years ago everybody was worried about Global Cooling?

Even the NOAA (under the Bush administration) came out last summer and said global warming due to human activity is no longer debatable, it is a fact. Why do some Republican's still refuse to admit it? Ignorance? It is a scientific fact, people, not a theory.

B. Gates has that amount on his credit card. He spends some to find new medicines. But seriously, aren't there any better things to do with it? Ofcourse a disease is bad if you have one (and you're not old yet), but don't we already have too much people on Earth anyway? Shouldn't we deal with the current problems of resources, BEFORE increasing the population (and thereby increasing resources related problems; if not only looked at the fresh water problem)?
Especially on the long term, are any global advantages to live 90 or more years bigger then the disadvantages?

A number of simple photosynthetic organisms need little else to survive but CO2, Water, and Sunlight. Many of these thrive in oceanic environments. Why wouldn't the rise in CO2 simply result in a general increase in their population and a general reduction in atmospheric CO2?
