I am thinking here of schemes to offset the emission of carbon dioxide involved in an activity (for example an air flight) by reducing emmission of carbon elsewhere (for example by helping finance a wind power or biomass scheme)

Ok, I've been trying to do some research on whether or not it's true that going on the computer and watching TV is polluting our earth, but I haven't found one source that's made much sense. So, is it true that watching TV and using the computer could possibly pollute our earth? If so, do you think in the future we'll make new and environment safe computers and TVs?

I didn't want the small hedgehog to be a) traumatised by it's dead mother (I presume) b) run over itself...Maybe the little hedgehog can still get to it's mother's body...I don't know...but I only had three sheets of newspaper on me and the corpse was squelchy and putrid beneath...I didn't want it to leak through onto my fingers so I chucked it almost as soon as I picked it up. Also, I didn't want passing cars to see what I was doing...cos it looks wierd to be carrying a flattened hedgehog around.

What do you think - was this a wierd thing to do? Should I have done more...go back and move it somewhere further away when I have more than newspaper as protection...Do you do things like that?

I have been told that it is a lube for the plates in the earth. So if that is true does that mean we are going to have a big earthquake? Because the world is running out of oil.

I've read some articles about a problem with hybrids which the process used to make and dispose the batteries for these cars is just as bad for the enviornment as oil production. Plus what the power companies burn up making the extra energy to charge your car at night is worse then what your average car burns off every day in gasoline. Is there any truth to any of this? Or was this just gas company propoganda.
