your ears must be pointing in the wrong direction. some problems are due to lack of environmental awareness and thinking that if you recycle everything(using your 4x4) you are saving the planet. What you have said is a generalisation, generalisations are a dangerous thing

Yes it is hypocritical to have gas guzzling cars, the car manufacturers will only get the message if nobody buys them. The DVLA should tax them even higher. Nobody asked them to live where they do if they live in the middle of nowhere.

What happened to electric cars.

We need to be less reliant on our current power and energy sources.

Using solar energy seems to work for many.

I can't stand those huge vehicles. Have you ever tried turning at a junction (in your much smaller car) when one of these is in the lane beside you. You cannot see over the front of it to see if there are any oncoming cars. Besides that, they pollute the planet and use up too much of the world's oil reserves!

Some people don't practice what they preach. Some do. People will choose a cause or endeavor either because they believe in it or because they want to gain acceptance by others. Do as I say, not as I do. That kind of thing.

I dont think thats true, people who use 4 x 4's dont think about the impact it has and therefore are not environmentalists.
