For a cup of coffee in the cafe or watching a movie together with students.

Should it be encouraged to foster a closer relationship between a teacher and his/her students or does it backfire in the sense that the students get too close to you and will not listen to you in class?

If a teacher wants to show a movie in class, do they need to pay royalties or get some sort of permission from the owner of the movie to do it? I know people do it all the time but I wonder if technically it is illegal or not. Thanks for any response.

...one of your students kissed you, i'm just curious. Like what would you do the moment right after it happened, not a day after it happened you would report it or anything. But the moment after they did it and you had to stare into thier eyes after it happened, what would you do, what would you say? And no creepy comments! *sigh* but i'm sure there'll be some...carry on.

What is the method? Both my daughter and I learned to read phonetically. My education degree is outdated. My grandson is learning some other way and having difficulty in the first grade. It is not because his parents don't care or don't work with him. They are doing a lot and it is not helping.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I taught elementary school only two years and got married. I have not used my degree very much since. I was an art volunteer for two years in my children's schools. I am bad out of touch with the current methods of reading specialties.

its seriously joke, i meant, it kind of pointless right now. i mean, look at europe, the europeans can spoke in like 5 lanuagues, because of what they have learned when they were in elementary while we only learned, specifically one lanuague, which is english!

i think, we should open up in our education, instead of focus on one little things, such as general education.

i think we should allows students to choose of what they want to becomes, instead the classes that IS ONLY PREPARES them to go to college which our scholars thinks they "MUST GO TO COLLEGE, or bust" you know?

so i think no child left behind act is joke anyway, waste of our money.

sorry if im being not clearly in english grammar, because it is not my frist lanuague, thank you.

Ello! I'm teaching a third grade class Spanish and I have to come up with a project with teaching "Me Gusta" to them. I can not come up with anything so if you have any ideas that would be wonderful :] Something that's hands-on would be the best.

Thanks a million :]

Here is the situation. I have had one too many parents come to me complaining about a grade I had given their kid. Usually, the dispute happens on a essay. I am trying my best to teach these students to write properly and half the time I get nothing but crap where the student has plagerized or the grammar is beyond terrible or the no thesis etc.

As an educator, I want to know if there are any professors teachers, support staff etc. that had to deal with 'helicopter parents' giving you a headache and how you have dealt with the problem. Because thus far, I am finding that it is becoming increasingly difficult to be diplomatic in situations were parents expect the sun, the moon and the stars and students think that they are intitled to get a good grade without working for it.

ok if schools are about learning how come you still have to be doing work if your know it. also how come the board of education does everything and does not let students have a saying over anything that the main office people, or the teachers. the teachers atomaticly win debates and they are always right why is this happening if we are all about freedom. if the colonist rebeled agaist great britain for doing stuff and not asking them how come school staff is making the same practices to underagers.
