ok if schools are about learning how come you still have to be doing work if your know it. also how come the board of education does everything and does not let students have a saying over anything that the main office people, or the teachers. the teachers atomaticly win debates and they are always right why is this happening if we are all about freedom. if the colonist rebeled agaist great britain for doing stuff and not asking them how come school staff is making the same practices to underagers.

Kids had less of a "say" in anything during the colonist's time!Children were not respected at all.

If my class decided what they wanted to learn, it would be "nothing" then then what would school be? just a place to play games? What kind of adults do uneducated kids become? If we don't educate our kids we will completely fall behind the rest of the world economy and then we won't have freedom at all because other economically developed countries will run us over!

Schools are supposed to be about offering students an education. Of course, now we have turned it into a substitute for parenting. Public schools are required to provide two meals (some even have to do all three,) after school care, discipline that should be handled by parents, etc.

Please don't be so harsh on the administration and teachers. They will always appear to be right in front of the student (because if we are reprimanded in front of students, you will lose respect for us.) But, you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. We have people getting angry with us and threatening us for any mistakes we make, especially parents.

When you are 18+, you are more than welcome to rebel against those in charge of you.....try it with your boss and see what happens.

School is not a democracy. Not if you want an education that's worth anything more than the paper they print your diploma on. Deal with it and get over it.
