My teacher has just graded my essay and I have to rewrite it and turn it in. He corrected the errors on my paper but I dont know what his abbreviations mean?

Can you help figure them out:

wc
PA
CS

Here is a guide to the standard proofreaders' marks: http://www.m-w.com/mw/table/proofrea.htm
Obviously, your teacher doesn't adhere to these standard abbreviations. So, I'm guessing that wc=word choice, PA=paragraph, and CS=complete sentence.

I am a teacher, and I do not know what these abbreviations mean. I think your teacher probably has his own "proofreading language." It would be wise to ask him to clarify. My guess is that you have to turn this in Monday though, and so it may be too late for that. So, you might also try to ask a classmate if they know what the letters mean. I am sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Good luck.

I know some abreviations mean different things in different careers. I think I would be safe to say that PA usually stands for Physician's Assistant, or Pennsalvania. CS stands for Counter-Strike, and WC could be many things.

Your best bet would be to ask your teacher, or if you don't want to do that, ask someone else in your class who might know. These aren't standard editorial abbreviations, such as a proofreader might use, so it's probably his own code. He shouldn't be offended if you ask him to clarify.
Good luck!

i think you need to ask your teacher. i think it's reasonable to ask them to explain their secret coding; you shouldn't be expected to know what it is. i could guess, but without seeing where the teacher put them, i'd rather not.
